    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a male-type direct current connector for a multiple-wire system cable which has a significantly simple structure and therefore can be assembled only by performing simple processes of crimping throughout all connection works. SOLUTION: A cylindrical male-type connector 16 is a connector for connecting a cable 14 comprising at least first and second internal conductors 22a, 22b, and 22c, which is enclosed with an outer insulative jacket 24, and at least, an outer tubular electrically-conductive contact 36 and inner tubular electrically-conductive contacts 32 and 34 are mounted in the connector 16. The male-type connector 16 is composed of: a dielectric housing 30 in which inner tubular conductive contacts 32 and 34 are connected to one side of the first and second internal conductor 22a, 22b, and 22c of the cable 14, respectively; a mainframe part 52 which fits with the outer tubular conductive contact 36; a first crimp arm 54 which protrudes from the mainframe part 52 to connect with a conductor other than the first and second inner conductors 22a, 22b, and 22c of the cable 14; and a terminal 50 having a second crimp arm 58 which protrudes from the mainframe part 52 to crimp the terminal 50 on the outer insulative jacket 24 of the cable 14.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric connector such as a connector for charging having one or more terminals performing various functions as a single part. SOLUTION: A connector for charging 10 mounted on a printed circuit board is provided with an insulative housing 12. The housing 12 is provided with a three-function terminal 22. The terminal 22 includes a charging part 42 exposed to the outside of the housing 12, a fixing part 48 for fixing the connector 10 to the printed circuit board, and a reflection part 38 having a reflection surface visible from the outside of the housing 12 so as to be detected by a manufacturing device. Another terminal 24 is a two-function terminal, and includes a charging part 54 and a large fixing part 50b. A pair of additional metal reflection members 32 is mounted on the housing 12 to form triangular coordinates with the reflection part 38 of the three-function terminal 22.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric connector provided with a holding mechanism to easily connect the electric connector to a printed wiring board by means of one or more holding member(s). SOLUTION: An electric connector 10 to be connected to a printed wiring board having a cutout part 14 at an edge is provided with a long and narrow insulation housing 24 having both ends 24a. The housing 24 is provided with wings 24b projecting outside at the both ends 24a. These wings 24b are arranged on to a surface of a printed wiring board 12. A pair of holding members 30 are attached to the both ends 24a of the housing 24. Holding parts 32 of the holding members 30 are placed between the wings 24b and a surface 12a of the printed wiring board 12 to connect the connector 10 to the printed wiring board 12.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the new electric connector to which a microphone and its terminals are contained so as to contain the microphone acoustically while saving a space in the handset. SOLUTION: The electric connector 10 used for the telephone handset is provided with an insulation housing 18 that has both ends 21 and an array of terminal reception cavities 24 placed between them. To receive a microphone 34, a receptacle 32 is formed to the outside of the array of terminal reception cavities 24 in the housing 18. A plurality of signal terminals 26 are placed in the cavities 24. Furthermore, the housing 18 is provided with a plurality of microphone terminals 48. Its spring arm contact 48a is placed to a slot 45 of a bottom wall 46 and projected toward the receptacle 32 to be connected to a proper contact of the microphone 34. An acoustic channel 52 is extended through the housing 18 to connect the receptacle 32 to the outside of the housing 18.

    Abstract: A connector assembly provides an interconnection between an IC pack (14) and a printed circuit board (16). The connector is in the form of a header (12) for mounting on the printed circuit board and into which the IC pack is inserted. A plurality of terminals (24) on the header are adapted for interconnection of the IC pack to electrical traces on the printed circuit board. An electrical switch (30) is provided along guide arm 20 of the header and is actuated by the IC pack itself upon insertion of the IC pack therewithin thereby detecting the presence of the IC pack within the header. The switch comprises a pair of spaced-apart contacts which are closed by the IC pack during insertion thereof into the header.

    Abstract: An insulation displacement electrical connector assembly (10) is disclosed for electrically terminating the conductors (64) of a multi-conductor insulated flat cable (62). A connector base (12) has a plurality of terminal-receiving passages (20). A connector cover (14) is positionable on the base to provide a cable-receiving passage (60) therebetween. The cable-receiving passage traverses the terminal-receiving passages. Complementary interengaging latches (24,36) are provided between the base and the cover to hold the base and cover together clamping the cable in the cable-receiving passage. A plurality of insulation displacement terminals (40) are movably mounted in the terminal-receiving passages for movement between inactive positions out of engagement with the conductors of the cable and insulation-displacement positions piercing the insulation (66,68) of the cable and electrically terminating the conductors.

    Abstract: A mounting system is provided for readily mounting an electrical connector (30) in an opening (62) in a panel (60) for interconnecting an electrical device (20) on one side of the panel with an electrical component (46) on the other side of the panel.     Abstract: An electrical connector system includes first (20) and second (24) electrical connectors mateable in a given general direction (A). Each connector includes a housing (38, 98) having a mating end (42, 112) and at least a pair of terminals (26/28, 32/34) mounted on the housing. The pair of terminals of each connector have contact portions (26d/28d, 32c/34c) engageable with the contact portions of the pair of terminals of the other connector. The contact portions of the terminals of at least one of the connectors are at angles to the mating direction to define a generally V-shaped engaging configuration. The contact portions of the terminals of at least one of the connectors are resilient. Therefore, wiping engagement between the respective terminals is effected during mating of the connectors, and the resilient contact portions are effective to store energy upon mating of the connectors, which energy is effective to assist in unmating of the connectors.

A pair of additional metal reflector members (32) also are mounted on the housing to provide triangular coordinates with the reflector portion (38) of the triple-function terminal (22).
