    Abstract: The present invention concerns a new class of pigments derived from cumarin and, more particularly, of bis-iminocumarinic and bis-cumarinic pigments having the following formula I described hereinlater. The present invention also includes novel processes for making the cumarinic pigments of the invention. Also, the invention relates to the use of the novel pigments of the invention for the preparation of paints, storing enamels, inks and pastes for the printing of fabrics. Also, included in this invention is the dyeing of plastic materials with the novel cumarinic pigments.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a new class of "bismethinic" pigments having the following formula: (I) wherein: A represents a phenyl, diphenyl, naphthilic or anthracenic group, that may be substituted with groups selected from halogens, alkyl groups having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms and alkoxyl groups having from 1 to 4 atoms; B represents a phenyl, a naphthyl, anthraquinone or heterocyclic group such as benzothiazol, pyrazol, pyridine, isoindazol, benzimidazolone, that may be substituted with groups selected from hydroxyl, halogens, alkyl groups having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, alkoxyl groups having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, carboxylic, carbamoylic, benzamidic, acylaminic, benzoylaminic, dialkylaminic groups having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms in the alkyl radical, ureidic, thioureidic groups and arylazo groups, that may also be substituted in their aryl group with alkyl and/or alkoxyl groups having up to 4 carbon atoms and halogens. The invention also relates to the preparation of the pigments of formula (I) and their use.

    Abstract: Prepn. of azocoumarin dispense dyes of formula (I) In the formula, A is a diazolizable base substd. by alkyl, alkoxyl, halogen, sulphomethyl, sulphamido, cyano, nitro or acetamido, or coupling agent substd. by N-dialkylamine, alkyl, alkoxyl, acetamido or cyano; R' = H, 1-4C alkyl or alkoxy or halogen; R2 = R' or acylamino; R3 = H or 1-4C alkyl, N-dialkylamino or N-(alkyl, cyanoalkyl) amino). Process comprises reacting, in approx. equimolar amts in an inert org. solvent, an intermediate of formula (II):- (where R4 = 1-4C alkyl) and a salicylaldehyde of formula (III). The intermediates are novel cpds. obtd. by condensation of an aminoazo cpd. with a malonic ester in an inert org. solvent (e.g. MeOH, DMF, chlorobenzene). The prods. are yellow and orange dyes giving high colour yields and dyeings or prints of good fastness to light, humidity and heat treatments on polyester and polyester-cotton materials, and are esp. useful for application by therofixation.
