The intermediates are novel cpds. obtd. by condensation of an aminoazo cpd. with a malonic ester in an inert org. solvent (e.g. MeOH, DMF, chlorobenzene). The prods. are yellow and orange dyes giving high colour yields and dyeings or prints of good fastness to light, humidity and heat treatments on polyester and polyester-cotton materials, and are esp. useful for application by therofixation.
