Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily assemble a housing while efficiently utilizing a space. SOLUTION: A portable wireless telephone is an opening/closing type and desirably composed of a first housing 102 and a second housing 108 connected with the first housing part by a hinge. The second housing part has a recess for housing a battery pack 15 and a battery cover 114 for covering the battery pack. Further, a detachable battery covers at least one part of the battery cover while being coupled with the wireless telephone. Besides, the first housing part of the opening/closing type portable wireless telephone can be provided with a display 126 and a speaker 120. Further, the second housing part can be provided with a keypad 136 and an antenna 202.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a movable joint for connecting a folding element to a main housing by providing the hinge device with a 1st cylindrical hinge shaft capable of rotationally connecting a folding element part to a body part and a 2nd cylindrical hinge shaft for connecting the folding element part to the body part and arranging 1st and 2nd cams in the folding element part. CONSTITUTION: A portable unit is constituted of a body part 102 and a folding element part 104. In the shown figure, the folding element is on an 'opened' position and the state indicates that a portable unit user can listen speech by an ear piece 106 and speak to a microphone 107. At the end of a telephone call, the user can hang up the portable telephone by moving the folding element to a closed position. The hang-up is attained by rotating the element 104 around the shafts of hinges 112, 114 so as to put the element 104 on a key pad 110.

Abstract: The latching system of the present invention uses a ribbed (301, 302) latch (300) molded into the battery housing, a depression latch (504) molded into the radiotelephone housing, and rail connectors (220, 320) molded into the radiotelephone housing to connect a battery (350) to a radiotelephone (200). The battery housing slides along the rail connectors until the battery housing latch (300) engages into the radiotelephone latch (210). The battery housing (350) is removed from the radiotelephone housing (200) by depressing the upper portion (300) of the battery housing latch, thus rotating it out of the depression latch (200) and allowing the battery housing to be slid off the radiotelephone housing (200).
