    Abstract: A differential to single-ended converter circuit is disclosed which utilizes integrated injection logic device geometrics to significantly reduce the area required to fabricate the converter within an integrated circuit. Inverted transistor operation and multiple collector output terminals allow the converter circuit to directly drive integrated injection logic circuitry which may be fabricated within the same integrated circuit chip. When used in conjunction with a voltage comparator circuit, the differential to single-ended converter circuit maintains the offset associated with the comparator circuit at a minimum despite variations in operating temperature and variations in integrated circuit processing.

    Abstract: There is disclosed an ignition control circuit (12, 24, 26) of the type which facilitates the storage of energy in an external inductive load (16) during a dwell period and the release of the stored energy from the inductive load through a spark gap at the end of the dwell period. The circuit includes switch means (24, 26) for conducting current through the inductive load (16) during the dwell period. and an integrated circuit (12) for turning the switch means (24, 26) on during the dwell period and off at the end of the dwell period. The integrated circuit (12) includes an output transistor (62) for controlling the switch means, a current source (58, 60) for driving the output transistor, and control means (52, 54, 56, 28, 30, 40) for enabling the current source during the dwell period and disabling the current source at the end of the dwell period.

    Abstract: DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR USE WITH INDUCTIVE LOADS OR THE LIKE An integrated circuit is operative to produce an output current to a load and for switching the output current when a predetermined peak magnitude of load current is reached to a lower predetermined constant value. The circuit includes an internal power stage rendered conductive for producing maximum load current through the external load which is connected in series therewith in response to an internally generated reference current. The power stage comprises a multi-emitter power transistor with each emitter coupled to a respective emitter ballast resistor such that the load current through one of the resistors may be sensed and compared to the reference current to cause the magnitude of this reference current to be switched from a maximum value to a minimum value when the sensed current is representative of te peak magnitude value of current to thereby reduce the load current until the magnitude thereof is representative of the lower level of reference current.

    Abstract: CURRENT OUTPUT OSCILLATOR An integrated circuit current-output relaxation oscillator utilizes an internal or external capacitor which is alternately charged from +VBE to a predetermined upper trip point and then discharged to +VBE. A control current proportional to the voltage across the capacitor is generated and compared with a reference current. When the control current achieves a predetermined value with respect to the reference current, a transistor is turned on permitting the capacitor to discharge to +VBE. The control current is generated by the same current mirror circuit which generates the oscillating output current and is either equal or proportional thereto. Therefore, the magnitude of the oscillating output current is dominantly proportional to the magnitude of the reference current, and the frequency of oscillation is dominantly dependent on passive components, i.e. a resistor and a capacitor.
