Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for reducing the calibration time of a power amplifier (PA). SOLUTION: The system includes a memory module (304) that is integrated in the PA. The memory module is configured to store one or more calibration parameters of the PA, and can also store one or more performance specifications of the PA. The system can also include a control circuit (406) controlling the operation of the PA. The calibration parameters and/or the performance specifications can be used by the control circuit to determine the behavior of the PA. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method in a mobile wireless communication transmitter. SOLUTION: The method includes the steps of: acquiring transmitter power related information, for example, transmitter headroom information and transmitter inter-modulation distortion information (200); and requesting a change to a transmitter channel configuration, for example, a frame size based on the acquired transmitter power related information (210). In another embodiment, the channel configuration is changed based on whether the transmitter is in soft handoff. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a configuration of a mobile wireless communication transmitter for increasing inter-modulation distortion (IMD) beyond its threshold value and coping with a particular data rate or a transport format combination (TFC). SOLUTION: This method includes: a step 200 of obtaining transmitter power related information, for example, transmitter headroom information and transmitter inter-modulation distortion information; and a step 210 of requesting a change in a transmitter channel configuration, for example, revision of a frame size on the basis of the obtained transmitter power related information. The method revises the channel configuration based on whether or not the transmitter is in a soft handoff state. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
Abstract:
A polar modulation power amplifier circuit includes a control circuit ( 101 ) to determine and provide a load selection signal ( 127 ), wherein the load selection signal ( 127 ) is determined responsive to a requested power signal ( 119 ). A power amplifier ( 113 ) is responsive to a power control signal ( 141 ), for amplifying an RF signal ( 139 ) to produce an amplified signal ( 145 ), having an output power level. A variable impedance matching circuit ( 117 ) is responsive to the load selection signal ( 127 ), to adjust a relationship between the control level and the output power level, to produce a range-adjusted amplified signal ( 147 ).
Abstract:
A method in a wireless communication transmitter including a baseband processor (310) that configures the transmitter for a particular signal configuration, and a headroom controller (350) for adjusting transmitter headroom based on the particular signal configuration. In one embodiment, the headroom is controlled based on a power metric, for example, a 3rd order polynomial or a peak to average ratio (PAR) metric, that is a function of the signal configuration. In another embodiment, the headroom is adjusted using information in a look up table.

Disclosed are methods and devices for remote determination, control and/or inhibiting the use of a speakerphone of a far end communication device. The methods and devices provide the ability to determine speakerphone use and provide remote control of a far end device's speakerphone, including prompting whether to disable the speakerphone of the far end device if determined to be active. Additionally disclosed are methods and devices of a first communication device having a speakerphone including engaging in a communication with a second communication device, determining if the speakerphone of the first communication device is active, and broadcasting that the speakerphone of the first communication device is active. Also disclosed are methods and devices a first communication device including determining an identity of an auditor at a second communication device and indicating at the first communication device the identity of an auditor at the second communication device.
