Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a real time processor debug system for reducing power consumption, and for minimizing the influence of performance due to a bus load by selectively sampling the address and data signal of the virtual bus of a core processor during a real time operation. SOLUTION: A debug interface samples a virtual address bus through a debug address bus between COF events during program trace messaging. Also, a debug interface detects a data fetch cycle, and samples the virtual address bus, and compares at least one address under consideration or address corresponding to an address range. When the address of a significant data cycle is present in a preliminarily specified range, the debug interface affirms an update data signal for sampling the virtual data bus.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately determine a reset vector address after reset, unnecessitating addition pin, nonvolatile storing position or data bus sampling. SOLUTION: A data processing system is configured using memories of various bit widths upon moving out of reset. A rest vector is composed of bytes, which are derived from a memory storing the reset vector in each memory operation. These bytes are stored in each possible memory structure in the prescribed manner, and a prescribed address is used to retrieve different bytes on a same part of data buses. A constituent value part of the retrieved reset vector is used to compose various parameters in the data processing system, so that parameters associated with other function characteristics in the memory or the system are initialized. A control part determines the manner in which a data part of the constituent value is adapted to various parameters in the data processing system.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce latency while maintaining a processor throughput at a minimum by comparing a threshold with a count number which is left before a multi-cycle instruction is completed. SOLUTION: A data processing system includes interruptible instructions and uninterruptible instructions. Namely, interruptive recognition is allowed during an instruction on condition that process environment and/or the instruction to be executed is proper. Once the instruction is interrupted during its execution, a partial result of the instruction is discarded and an interruption which is being held is processed. The threshold is used to prevent data from being lost from an instruction which is substantially completed. During the execution of the multi-cycle instruction, the threshold is compared with the count value which is left before the multi-cycle instruction is completed and shows the number of cycles. Thus, the threshold is used to prevent the data from being lost from the instruction which is substantially completed without increasing the maximum interruption latency time of a data processing system.
