    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distributed capacitor which has good space and cost efficiencies as well as appropriate performance characteristics. SOLUTION: A distributed capacitor 205 suitable for high density integration applications, an impedance-matching network 201, and a transmitter 101 include a printed circuit substrate 303. The printed circuit substrate is disposed on one of a printed circuit board and a silicon-based substrate, first conducting layers 305 positioned on the printed circuit substrate, a dielectric material layer 307 which is positioned on the first conducting layers and has a certain thickness and a dielectric constant greater than five times that of the printed circuit substrate, and a second conducting layer 309 which is positioned on the dielectric material layer and has a second length 311 and a second thickness 603 selected so that the distributed capacitor operates as a transmission line.
