PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evaluate one communication network while performing communication in another communication network by improving compression mode communication. SOLUTION: A compressed frame is structured to include a first part, a second part and a separation slot between the first part and the second part. The number of user devices allocated to the first part and the number of devices allocated to the second part are determined. A new user device is allocated to the side having a smaller number of allocated user devices out of the first part and the second part. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods in mobile wireless communication devices for configuring the devices based upon base station information on a network broadcast channel. SOLUTION: The method in a mobile wireless communication device includes the steps of: receiving base station information on a network broadcast channel from a plurality of base stations; configuring the mobile wireless communication device in accordance with configuration information for the base station without re-selecting the base station for the configuration information; transmitting identity of the base station in response to receiving a paging request; and receiving a setup message including the configuration information after transmitting the identity of the base station. Described are a method and a Bluetooth device that upon powering up ( 202 ), the device automatically enters ( 306 ) discoverable mode without user intervention when its paired device list is empty ( 304 ). Also described is emptying ( 206 ) the paired device list. Further described is a method and Bluetooth device having one or more devices listed in its paired device list and wherein attempts are made at communication with the listed devices in one or more predetermined manners and if the attempts are not successful, automatically entering discoverable mode ( 306 ). Still further described is a method and device for attempting communication with the previously paired devices which may be interposed with entering into discoverable mode until either one is successful.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a communication controller and a method for maintaining a communication connection during a cell reselection. The communication connection is maintained by changing between a first operating mode, such as a packet data mode, which does not support the maintenance of a communication connection throughout a cell reselection, and a second operating mode, such as a circuit switched mode, which does support maintenance of a communication connection during a handover. Use of a virtual mobile switching center in the base station subsystem facilitates the conversion and routing of circuit switched data, transmitted between the mobile subscriber and the base transceiver station, to the packet data network while in a circuit switched mode.
