Abstract:
A first sequence state storage module ( 20 ) periodically stores a present state ( 22 ) of a long code generator ( 30 ). Following a restoration of power after a power cut condition, or following the termination of any other interruption of the generation of the long code, a sequence recovery module ( 50 ) then provides an updated present state ( 36 ). The updated present state ( 36 ) is based upon a stored present state ( 24 ) and a time value ( 52 ) that is reset whenever the present state ( 22 ) of the long code or other sequence is stored and that is available even when the long code or other sequence is interrupted.
Abstract:
A method for increase receiver efficiency in a multimode communication device includes a first step (704) of monitoring a received signal strength of a neighboring cell on a receiver channel. A next step (706) includes determining a noise on the receiver channel from a transmitter power amplifier of the communication device. A next step (708) includes comparing the level of interference with a predetermined threshold and with respect to the signal strength. A next step (710) includes blanking the receiver when the transmitter power amplifier of the communication device is on and if the predetermined threshold is not exceeded indicating excessive self-interference.
Abstract:
A mobile wireless communications device and methods therefore, including receiving a signal (710), storing a portion of the received signal (730), identifying all possible pilot signals by determining slot boundary information for the stored signal portion (720), determining frame boundary information and/or scrambling code information (760) of the stored signal portion by correlating the stored signal portion with the scrambling codes based on the slot boundary information. In other embodiments, the search is performed in real-time without storing the signal.
