A system and device for providing power to and monitoring the energy usage of a device connected thereto includes a unit having one or more circuit boards having components for detecting the energy usage of the connected device and an interface for electrically connecting to the device. The unit communicates with a coordinator regarding the connected device or the state of the unit itself. Depending on the communication received from the unit, the coordinator relays the received data to a server and awaits instruction, or immediately commands the unit to take a certain action. If the server receives data from the coordinator, it sends such data to a remote server, saves it, generate reports based thereon, and/or alerts a user regarding same. The user can choose to send a command to the unit or device through the system, for example, to shut down, turn on, or to adjust the power being supplied to the device.

A system and method for providing power to and monitoring the energy usage includes at least one electrical control unit having an unmanned vehicle, at least one electrical control unit, a sensor enabled to monitor a given condition; a power source; a processor configured to be in communication with the at least one sensor and said power source, said processor further configured to manage communications with said management system; an unmanned vehicle releasibly coupled to said electrical control unit, said processor being adapted to release said unmanned vehicle to enable the unmanned vehicle to separate from said electrical control unit, wherein said sensor is enabled to monitor at least one of the following: voltage, current, real power, apparent power, reactive power, frequency, total harmonic distortion, arc fault, plug loads, power factor, GFI, AFI, light, temperature, humidity, methane, carbon monoxide, motion, thermal, occupancy, radio frequency, audio, video, infrared, and combinations thereof and wherein said unmanned vehicle can travel to various locations.

Un sistema y dispositivo para proporcionar energía a y monitorear el uso de energía de un dispositivo conectado al mismo incluye una unidad que tiene uno o más tableros de circuitos que tienen componentes para detectar el uso de energía del dispositivo conectado y una interfaz para conectarse eléctricamente al dispositivo; la unidad se comunica con un coordinador referente al dispositivo conectado o el estado de la unidad en sí misma; dependiendo de la comunicación recibida desde la unidad, el coordinador retransmite los datos recibidos a un servidor y espera la instrucción, o inmediatamente ordena a la unidad emprender una cierta acción; si el servidor recibe datos desde el coordinador, éste envía dichos datos a un servidor remoto, los guarda, genera reportes basados en los mismos y/o alerta a un usuario respecto a los mismos; el usuario puede elegir enviar un comando a la unidad o dispositivo a través del sistema.
