Abstract:
A porous composite which comprises a porous layer comprising a calcium phosphate ceramic and, formed on part of the surface thereof, a dense layer having a smaller average pore diameter than the porous layer. The porous composite can be produced by (1) introducing a slurry containing a calcium phosphate ceramic/collagen composite and collagen into a mold having a high thermal conductivity, (2) rapidly freezing the slurry in the mold and drying it to form a porous object comprising a porous layer and a dense layer formed on the surface thereof, (3) crosslinking the collagen contained in the porous object, and (4) cutting the porous object to partly remove the dense layer and expose the porous layer so as to leave the dense layer in the area where the porous object comes into contact with a soft tissue after having been implanted in the body.
Abstract:
A method for producing a porous body comprising apatite/collagen composite fibers comprising the steps of gelling a dispersion comprising long apatite/collagen composite fibers having an average length of 10-75 mm, short apatite/collagen composite fibers having an average length of 0.05-1 mm, and a liquid; freezing and drying the resultant gel to form a porous body; and cross-linking collagen in the porous body.
Abstract:
In the process of producing a porous body containing a fibrous apatite/collagen composite by gelating a dispersion comprising said fibrous apatite/collagen composite, collagen and water, freeze-drying the resultant gel to form a porous body, and cross-linking collagen in said porous body, a method for controlling the average pore diameter of said porous body by the solidification time of said gel in said freezing step.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spacer capable of being strongly fixed without generating cracks/fractures or the like on the spacer installed in a gap part.SOLUTION: The spacer 1 is installed and fixed in the gap part between bones, and includes a block body 2 installed in the gap part and a planar body 3 for fixing the block body 2 to the gap part. The planar body 3 includes a holding part 5 which is integrated with the planar body 3 and holds the block body 2, and the holding part 5 includes a pair of arm parts 51 projected from a surface supporting the holding part 5 of the planar body 3 and arranged facing each other, and locking parts 52 provided on the arm parts 51. By locking the block body 2 by the locking parts 52, the block body 2 is held by the planar body 3.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a porous article having a large specific area and pores constituted of communicating pores; and to provide a porous article manufactured by the same. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of a porous article comprises a step of preparing a slurry in which primary particles of a ceramic material are dispersed, and preparing secondary particles of a ceramic material granulated from the primary particles, and a step of adding the secondary particles to the slurry, and heating the slurry to solidifying the secondary particles through the primary particles to prepare the porous article. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sample container capable of safely transporting a sample and easy to take out the sample. SOLUTION: A groove in which a pincette for taking out the sample can be inserted so as to match the shape of the inner wall of a housing container with the shape of the sample to make it hard to move the sample not only to enable the safe feed of the sample but also to facilitate the taking-out of the sample. The sample container for housing the sample is obtained by utilizing this constitution and has a sample placing part 5a having an inner wall slightly larger than the sample and the housing part 5 provided to the side surface part opposed to the inner wall and having the groove 5b in which the pincette for taking out the sample can be inserted.
