    Abstract: of the disclosure An optical switch circuit is configured as a matrix array to arbitrarily switch the connections between optical transmission channels. The optical switch circuit comprises a plurality of optical splitter coupled to input transmission channels, a plurality of optical switches arranged on the matrix crosspoints, each switch comprising an optoelectronic element and a light modulating element functioning as an electrooptic element, and a plurality of optical combiners coupled to output transmission channels. Thus, a small-sized optical switch circuit suitable for integration is realized. With this circuit, small crosstalk and high speed switching without distortion of broadband signals are expected. Further, this circuit provides a wide adaptability such that light transmitted through multi-mode optical fiber can be switched.

SOLUTION: An account number data base 6 stores a plurality of precedently opened accounts exclusive for receiving transfer. The deposit receiving server 10 inquires a bank system 30 about an existence of a deposit to the account exclusive for receiving transfer allotted to a member. When there is a deposit, the deposit receiving server 10 sends information of a deposited sum and the member number of the member corresponding to the account exclusive for receiving transfer to a betting process server 20. A telephone betting server 20 adds the deposited sum to the remainder of betting funds.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce number of required high speed electric circuits by sending a header part and a data part through separate optical fiber transmission lines and quickening only the transmission speed for the data part when the transmission speed is increased to improve the throughput of the system. CONSTITUTION:A data part and a header part of a packet are sent through separate optical fiber transmission lines 13, 14 while being synchronously with each other timewise respectively. The header part sent through the 1st optical fiber transmission line 13 is converted into an electric signal by a 1st photoelectric converter 4, fed to an access processing circuit 10, in which the content of the header is read and when the packet is sent to its own node, after the content of the header part is cleared, the data is converted into an optical signal by the 1st photoelectric converter 4, the result is sent to a 1st optical fiber transmission line 13 and the data part is led to the 2nd photoelectric converter 6 from the 2nd optical fiber transmission line 14 and converted into an electric signal, it is fed to a data interface circuit 9.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a light controlling optical element having high operating quenching ratio and causing no interference between input and output by providing a light switch for switching an optical waveguide, a gain medium connected to the waveguide, and a reflector disposed with the gain medium interposed therebetween. CONSTITUTION:Naturally emitted light generated from a part storing a pumped gain medium 12 is coupled to an input waveguide 11a of a light switch 10, and outputted to an output waveguide 11c when a control optical signal 14 is feeble. When the control signal 14 becomes intense, the naturally emitted light is outputted to a waveguide 11d, constituting there an oscillator by the effect of two optical reflectors 13a, 13b. Thus, laser oscillation is obtd. when sufficient pumping for the gain medium is given. When the laser output from the optical reflector 13a is led out as an output signal, an output of amplified control optical signal 14 is obtd. When the reflector 13b is provided to the output waveguide side 11c, an inverting amplified output is obtd. The device of this invention has low charging loss and high quenching ratio, requiring mild temp. condition, etc. Interference between input and output is not generated.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To realize a high-speed device and to manufacture it easily by adopting a structure composed of a light-waveguide part and of a clad part whose refractive index is slightly lower than that of the light-waveguide part and which contains an atom or an ion acting as the recombination center of a free carrier. CONSTITUTION:An AlGaAs film 102 acting as an etching stopper layer of GaAs is formed on a GaAs substrate 101. A GaAs/AlGaAs superlattice 107 is formed on the AlGaAs film 102 by alternately laminating a GaAs film and the AlGaAs film. After that, a circular photoresist pattern 204 whose radius is several microns is formed. Ions of H are injected by making use of this photoresist pattern 204. After removal of the photoresist pattern 204, a specimen is annealed at about 300 deg.C for about 10 min; a window is opened by etching the GaAs substrate 101 until the AlGaAs etching stopper film 102 is exposed; lastly, dielectric reflecting-films 106a and 106b of high reflectance are formed on the exposed AlGaAs film 102 and on the GaAs/AlGaAs superlattice 107.
