Abstract:
The invention refers to a pumping and foaming device (10) comprising a mixing unit (201) where air and a foamable fluid are conveyed and pre-mixed, and a foaming unit (203) where the mixture of air and fluid is foamed; the device (10) further comprising a processing element (202) rotatable with respect to the foaming unit (203), such that the rotation of the processing element (202) sucks air and fluid by centrifugal forces into the mixing unit (201), where they are conveyed and pre-mixed, that same rotation of the processing element (202) with respect to the foaming unit (203) driving the mixture of air and fluid under a certain level of shear stress which allows the mixture to be foamed. The invention further refers to a pack (100) comprising a device (10) and a fluid container (20), and further to a machine (200) to which such a pack (100) is connectable. The invention also refers to a system (300) comprising a machine (200) and a pack (100).
Abstract:
An appliance (1) is arranged for frothing a body of a milk-containing liquid (17) contained in a frothing tank (10). Such appliance comprises: an air incorporation device (5,8,51) that is arranged to dip or to be immersed in such body of liquid during frothing for incorporating air thereinto; and a steam supply arrangement (20, 21, 22, 23, 23', 23", 24, 25, 26, 27, 28,29) having a steam outlet (22,25) that is arranged to be immersed in such body of liquid during frothing for incorporating steam thereinto. The steam outlet and the air incorporation device are arranged to be at spaced apart locations in such body of liquid during frothing so as to form steam bubbles at the steam outlet separately from air bubbles that are being formed by the air incorporation device.
Abstract:
Device (100) for producing fluid foam comprising a container (10) where the fluid can be accommodated, and a foaming tool (20) being rotatable in the inner volume of the container (10); such that the texture and the porosity of the fluid foam obtained are provided by shear energy coming from Couette Flow effect and depend on the dimension of the foaming tool (20) with respect to the inner volume of the container (10), on the location of the foaming tool (20) from the bottom (11) of the container and on the rotation speed of the foaming tool (20).
Abstract:
The present invention concerns a beverage dispensing system for providing a multi-layered beverage is disclosed. The beverage dispensing system is adapted to prepare a plurality of beverages of different densities within a plurality of ingredients container. The beverage dispensing system separately and sequentially dispenses a lower density beverage prior to dispensing a higher density beverage. The beverages are dispensed via a delivery tube which is disposed proximally to an internal base of a drinks receptacle. Furthermore an ingredients container is disclosed. Furthermore a method for the manufacture of the multi-layered beverage is disclosed.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a beverage dispenser (1 ) configured for dispensing in a drinking container (2) a beverage composed of a plurality of layers (2a, 2b, 2c) of beverage components, said dispenser comprising : - a preparation unit for preparing the beverage components (30, 31, 32, 33) and dispensing said beverage components in a drinking container, - a control unit (9) for enabling a user to control the preparation unit, said control unit comprising :. a user interface (10) for enabling a user to select a beverage,. a processing unit for driving the preparation unit in accordance with the beverage selected by the user, wherein the user interface (10) enables the user to choose the vertical order of the layers (2a, 2b, 2c) of beverage components in the drinking container, and wherein the processing unit is adapted to calculate the density (d 30 , d 31 , d 32 , d 33 ) of each beverage component in order to obtain the vertical order of layers selected by the user in the drinking container.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a device 1 for producing milk foam, which makes use of Couette flow and a high shear stress that is accordingly applied to a milk-air mixture between two concentrically arranged cylinders 2, 3. The cylinders are rotated relatively to another. The high shear stress leads to an emulsion of the milk and the air, which is the basis for a foaming effect, once the emulsion flows out of a gap 6 between the two cylinders 2, 3 and expands. The parameters of the device 1 that mainly influence the foaming effect are the width of the gap 6 and the relative rotation speed of the cylinders.
Abstract:
A process for preparing a beverage comprises: providing a liquid carrier; supplying a flavouring ingredient to the liquid carrier; optionally heating the liquid carrier; and agitating the liquid carrier to promote dissolution and/or dispersion of the flavouring ingredient therein. The flavouring ingredient is supplied in the form of a self-sustaining body (2) to the liquid carrier, the self- sustaining body (2) having at least one surface (3) from which the flavouring ingredient is dissolved and/or dispersed into the liquid carrier. The liquid carrier is agitated in a controlled manner to circulate on this surface so as to achieve a controlled dissolution and/or dispersion of the flavouring ingredient into the liquid carrier.
Abstract:

Abstract:
A machine (1) for heating a food substance has: a container (10) delimiting a cavity (10') for containing the food substance. The machine further includes a module (20) comprising a housing means (22') that contains an inner chamber (22, 22a) and that delimits a seat (21) for the container (10). The chamber (22, 22a) contains a generator (23) of an oscillating electromagnetic field directed to the container (10) for heating the food substance in the container (10) and at least one electric component (23, 24, 25, 26) radiating heat within the chamber (22, 22a). The housing means (22') has a separation section (22'') and a distinct outside section (22'''). The separation section (22''') separates the chamber (22, 22a) from the seat (21), the outside section (22''') being separated from the seat (21) by the chamber (22, 22a). The separation section (22'') and the outside section (22''') have such respective thermal conductivities as to promote an evacuation of the heat radiated within the chamber (22, 22a) outside the module (20) via the outside section (22''') rather than into the container (10) via the separation section (22'').
