    Abstract: An integrated mounting for coupling an array to optical fibers, said array comprising a plurality of light emitting devices or photodetecting devices, comprising: a base, a substrate on said base, a plurality of parallel channels defined between said base and substrate, said channels being open at opposite sides of said substrate, optical fibers in said channels terminating in fiber ends on one of said sides, a submount affixed to said base, and said array fixed to a top surface of said submount, said light emitting device or said photodetecting device is positioned to said fiber ends, characterized in that said base, said substrate and said submount are of the same material.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide an integrated photoelectronic coupler and connector which have excellent heat stability, satisfactory mechanical strength, and advantageous electric characteristics and of which price is reasonable. CONSTITUTION: The integrated mount constituting a connector is equipped with a base 12, a substrate 16 on the top surface 28 of the base 12, channels 20 which are mutually parallel channels 20 formed between the base 12 and substrate 16 and open in the mutually opposite flanks of the substrate 16, optical fibers in the channels 20 which have fiber terminals on the side of one flank, a submount 32 fixed to the base 12, and a light emitting element or light receiving element array 30 which is a light emitting element or light receiving element array to the top surface 33 of the submount and positioned so as to irradiate the fiber terminals by the use of the respective light emitting elements or light receiving elements. The base, substrate, and submount are formed out of the same material.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To decrease a number of part items, to simplify a structure, to contract size, to lighten weight so as to reduce a cost by connecting a silver electrode and electrode metal fitting baked in both end surfaces of a nonlinear resistor element, and thereafter housed in an insulating outer jacket. CONSTITUTION:After silver paste 2A is applied to both end faces of a nonlinear resistor element 1, the paste is heated at 550 to 900 deg.C to bake silver electrodes 2, 3 to both end faces of the element 1. Next, solder paste 4A is applied to a surface of the one silver electrode 2, to bring a lower surface of a flange 6a of an electrode metal fitting 6 into contact with an upper surface of this silver electrode, and after the element 1 and the electrode 6 are heated, the silver electrode 2, flange 6a of the electrode metal fitting 6, silver electrode 5 in a lower side of the element 1 and a lower electrode metal fitting 7 are connected by solders 4, 5. Peripheral surfaces of the element 1 and the electrode metal fittings 6, 7 are housed to be wrapped by an insulating jacket 8.
