A dial that is rotatably operable between plural rotary positions is prevented from stopping at a midway position of rotational operation. In a power seat operation device, a cam portion (52) formed at a dial base (32) has valleys (54A, 54B, 54C) and peaks (56A, 56B) that are alternately arranged in a row along a rotation direction of a dial (58) so as to form an undulation in a radial direction. A slider (78) is supported by the dial (58) so as to be slidable in the radial direction. The slider (78) is abutted against the cam portion (52) by biasing force from a roller spring (88) and fits into one out of the valleys (54A, 54B, 54C) so as to retain the dial (58) at one of the rotary positions. During rotational operation of the dial (58), the slider (78) crosses over at least one out of the peaks (56A, 56B) while elastically deforming the roller spring (88) and sliding with respect to the dial (58).
Abstract:
Malfunction due to simultaneous operation of a dial and a knob is prevented. In a power seat operation device (10), a slider (78) that is supported so as to be slidable in a radial direction with respect to a dial (58) slides toward the radial direction center of the dial (58) during rotation of the dial (58). A knob engagement portion (80A) that is provided to the slider (78) is thereby disposed between a pair of slider engagement portions (122A, 122B) that are provided to a knob (110). This enables rotational operation of the knob (110) to be restricted. However, during rotational operation of the knob (110), one out of the pair of slider engagement portions (122A, 122B) opposes the knob engagement portion (80A) from toward the radial direction center of the dial (58). This enables rotational operation of the dial (58) in conjunction with sliding of the slider (78) to be restricted.

Provided is a power seat operation device configured so that movable mechanisms can be selectively operated and so that a movable mechanism which rotates and moves a movable section can be intuitively operated without impairing the intuitive nature of operation of a movable mechanism which linearly moves a movable section. A power seat operation device (100) is configured in such a manner that, when a dial member (128) is rotated and operated, a movable mechanism which is to be operated is selected from among movable mechanisms. When a switch member (130) is rotated and operated, the selected movable mechanism is actuated. Also, the switch member (130) is rotated and operated about a rotation axis (H) extending in the widthwise direction of the seat. This means that the direction of operation of the switch member (130) can be aligned with or nearly aligned with both the direction of the actual movement of a seat back (120) when a recliner mechanism (122) is actuated and the direction of the actual movement of an ottoman (124) when an ottoman mechanism (126) is actuated. Also, in a state in which a seat slide mechanism (108) is selected, the direction of the operation of the switch member (130) is aligned with the front-rear direction of the seat.
