    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make display patterns invisible at the time of non-lighting of a light source by forming light transparent layers having light scatterability and light shielding layers enclosing these layers in parallel on the surface of a panel base material and forming matte layers having light transparency on the light transparent layers and the light shielding layers. CONSTITUTION:This display panel 1 is constituted by forming the light transparent layers 3 having the light scatterability and the light shielding layers 4 enclosing these layers in parallel on the surface of the panel base material 2 and forming the matte layers 5 having light the transparency on the light transparent layers 3 and the light shielding layers 4. Transparent resin molded parts, glass plates, etc., having light transparency are used for the panel base material 2. The light transparent layers 3 are the layers to form the display patterns by the light from the light source arranged on the rear surface of the display panel 1 and have the property to scatter the transmitted light. The light transparent layers 3 are formed by using ink contg. silica powder, etc. The light shielding layers 4 are so formed as to prohibit the transmission of the light to the front surface of the base material panel when the light source is lighted. The matter layers 5 are formed with the ruggedness on the surface and lessen the difference in surface reflection between the light transparent parts and the light shielding parts.
