    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the subject method and equipment therefor intended for waste polymer decomposition or polymer modification, designed to accomplish high decomposition efficiency even in the case of polymer solutions at high concentrations or elevated temperatures. CONSTITUTION:A polymer 4 in the form of a solution is charged into a decomposition chamber 3 with a portion of its wall surface made of a bellows 1 and decomposed by expanding and contracting the bellows 1. The decomposition chamber 3 is made up from the bellows 1 and a bellows case 2, and a driving source for the actuation of the bellows 1 is also provided. A piston may be used in place of the bellows 1.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an electrically conductive acrylic elastomer composite material by mixing a suspension in which surfaces of insulating fine particles are coated with a polymer acid salt with an alcoholic solution, etc., containing an acrylic elastomer and salt electrolytic substance dissolved therein and then removing the solvent. CONSTITUTION:(B) An aqueous suspension of a polymer acid (e.g. lithium polystyrenesulfonate) is added to (A) an aqueous suspension of insulating fine particles (e.g. ferrite) and (B) an alcohol or ketone as a reprecipitating agent for insolubilizing the polymer acid salt is added to the resultant dispersion to provide a suspension in which surfaces of the insulating fine particles are coated with the polymer acid salt. (C) A solution of the alcohol or ketone containing an acrylic elastomer and a salt electrolytic substance (e.g. lithium perchlorate) dissolved therein is then mixed with the aforementioned suspension and the solvent is subsequently removed from the (D) the mixture solution to optionally form a solid solution of the salt electrolytic substance in the resi due. Thereby, the objective electrically conductive acrylic elastomer composite material is produced.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the heat resistance by utilizing the property of restoration almost completely to a original shape before drawing by beattreating a synthetic resin plate which has three-dimensional network structure. CONSTITUTION:The synthetic resin plate 1 which has the three-dimensional network structure is drawn differently in drawing magnification longitudinally and laterally above glass dislocation temperature and cooled in this state below the glass dislocation temperature to form a drawn plate 1'. A Fresnel lens 1'' is cut in one surface of the drawn plate 1' to form a lens surface and then beattreated above the glass dislocation temperature. Namely, the synthetic resin 1 which has the three-dimensional network structure restores itself to its original state by shrinking smoothly. Consequently, size control and shrinkage rate control are facilitated and the Fresnel lens 1'' with optional focus is easily manufactured, and the heat resistance is improved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To manufacture a composite film superior in gas barrier properties, by a method wherein an adhesive agent comprised of novolak type phenolic resin and hexamethylenetetramine curing agent is used for lamination of an acrylonitril-butadiene rubber(NBR) sheet and polyvinyl alcohol(PVA) film. CONSTITUTION:A PVA or ethylene-vinyl acetate(EVA) copolymer whose saponification degree is about at least 85%, preferably about 95-100% is used as a film having generally a thickness of about 5-500mum, preferably about 20-400mum for PVA resin. An adhesive agent layer containing novolak type phenolic resin and hexamethylenetetramine is formed generally to a thickness of about 0.5-20mum on at least a one surface of the film. The hexamethylenetetramine is used at the rate of about 5-20 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. novolak type resin and an adhesive agent is used as an organic solvent solution whose solid part density is about 3-20%. When an NBR compounded fabric sheet is piled on the adhesive agent layer and pressurization and vulcanization are performed while heating at about 160-200 deg.C, a composite film having the gas barrier properties is obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance the accuracy of a sensor by catching the phase change or amplitude change of light accompanied by vibration by using an optical fiber wherein all of a core material, clad material and a coating material are constituted of a rubbery elastomer. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber 1 is embedded in a rubbery flat plate 3 along with a light source 2 so that one end part thereof is in contact with said light source 2. The other end part of an optical fiber 1' is connected to various measuring devices, for example, by an O/E converter 5. A change of the quantity of propagated light is converted to an electric signal in a display part by the converter 5 and the electric signal is connected to a desired display device, that is, to an oscilloscope 6 or a waveform monitor when a waveform showing the frequency and amplitude of vibration is observed or to a power meter when only the amplitude of the vibration is observed to perform monitoring. Therefore, a copolymer used as a core material and a clad material is formed by copolymerizing crosslinkable group-containing monomers of the same kind and crosslinking the obtained copolymer by the crosslinking method of the same kind. By this method, an optical fiber capable of being deformed easily and largely is obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable measurement of acceleration as change in the quantity of propagation light by a method wherein a light waveguide having a rubber-like elasticity is buried into a robber-like flat plate and the flat plate is fixed in such a manner as to be displaced in one direction. CONSTITUTION:A core material and a clad material of a light waveguide 1 are both made up of a crosslinked elastomer having a transition point of glass below a room temperature and a co-crosslinking is performed at a junction part between a core layer and a clad layer to improve an interfacial adhesive property. Then, one end 2 of the light waveguide 1 is buried into a rubber-like flat plate 5 while the other end 6 thereof is mounted on a photodetector 7 so that light from a light source 4 is incident into an end 3 thereof 1 and the upper end 8 thereof is fixed in such a manner that the flat plate 5 is displaced only in a direction of the arrow. In this manner, a displacement by acceleration is detected as change in the quantity of propagation light within the waveguide 1. This allows a greater change in the quantity of light regardless of a larger fiber diameter and this change is converted into electricity from light thereby enabling measurement thereof as output voltage of a luminous energy meter.

Then, at least two layers of the compsn. are laminated on top of the other, and the laminate is vulcanized at 100-200 deg.C for 0.5-120min to prepare a humidity sensor.
