Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid a complexity using a multifunctionalized user interface in a cellular telephone. SOLUTION: A system has a device with an RF tag incorporated into a case and a mobile telephone 50 with an RF tag reader 60 reading the RF tag and carrying out an operation related to the RF tag. A quick access, in which a user bypasses a normal input means such as a key pad by operating the device so as to carry out the operation, in which the RF tag is read by the RF tag reader 60 and which is related to the RF tag, when the user intends to carry out any operation of the telephone and which does not require the tracing of a menu regarding frequently used functions and operation, is provided. The access to these frequently used functions can be changed into intuitive one by connecting a body, with which a hand can be touched, such as the deice to the operation. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary and preliminary application about a game to a radio communication device. SOLUTION: The radio communication device for carrying out selection of a token to be used for the game in response to vibration is provided with a control unit and an accelerometer. The control unit comprises a vibration detection means which operates so as to decide when the radio communication device is vibrated by analyzing a signal from the accelerometer. Abstract:
Controlling calls in a mobile telephone in which a user is allowed to switch on phone call limitation. A phone call limitation is imposed responsively and phone calls from the mobile telephone are allowed only up to a predetermined limit. After meeting the predetermined limit, placing of new phone calls and continuing of an ongoing phone call is prevented. The predetermined limit is based on call time, costs of a call or calls, or both the time and costs. The mobile telephone itself controls the call time. For cost control, the mobile telephone is configured to instruct its network based charging system to control the costs so that they will not exceed a cost limit. The phone call limitation is input from a user. To authorize the user for entering the call limitation, the user prompted for an authorization code.
Abstract:
A refueling system for an electronic device, comprising a fuel reservoir in a fuel supply device; a fuel cell having a refillable fuel store in a mobile electronic device; a first fuel interface to the fuel supply device for releasable connection with a second fuel interface to the mobile electronic device; and a transfer mechanism for transferring fuel from the fuel reservoir across the first and second fuel interfaces, when connected, into the refillable fuel store.
Abstract:
A portable device for to notifying a user of an event, the device being capable c providing a user-operable function to a user and having a screen to display function information in accordance with the function being operated by the user, wherein the device is arranged to determine that an event independent of the function has occurred, generate event information about the event and display at least some of the event information on the screen in a location of the screen that is dependent on the function information currently being displayed.
Abstract:
This invention provides a handset (10) and a method of operating a handset. The handset includes a user interface that contains a data entry device (20) and a visual display device (14), a camera (16) and a controller (12) coupled to the visual display device and to the camera. The controller operates under the control of a stored program (22A) for displaying to a user an image representative of at least a portion of an environment of the user as seen through the camera during a time that the user is interacting with tthe user interface. The controller may further operate under control of the stored program to process images generated by the camera to detect a potential for a collision with an object that is present in the environment of the user, and to warn the user of the potential for a collision.
Abstract:
A mobile communication terminal comprising: a clock for maintaining an indication of the current time; a memory for storing a definition of an alert time; and an alerting unit configurable to issue an alert when the current time matches the alert time, the alerting unit being capable of issuing the alert by initiating a connection to another communication terminal over a network so as to cause that other terminal to locally signal the incidence of the connection incoming thereto.
Abstract:
A pair of communication devices (10, 10A) are capable of communication by means of a communication link (32), such as a Bluetooth or WLAN link. The device (10A) has an RFID tag (30) containing data sufficient to identify feedback to be provided to a user. The device (10) has an RFID reading device (28) able to read feedback data from the tag (30). The device (10) is operable to provide feedback, which may be audible, visible or tactile, to a user, in accordance with feedback data read by the device (28) from the tag (30). Establishment of the communication link (32) is not required before feedback can commence and thus, feedback is not delayed by the procedures required to establish the link (32).
Abstract:
A method and corresponding equipment to enable a phone owner, who desires to lend a phone to a borrower, to define a temporary limit for the usage of the borrower, especially in a prepaid charging system. The charging system uses this temporary limit to restrict service usage such that when an amount corresponding to the temporary limit has been spent service is denied until such time as the limit has expired or been withdrawn, even if, for example, there is still a positive balance in the phone owner's own prepaid account.
