Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid a complexity using a multifunctionalized user interface in a cellular telephone. SOLUTION: A system has a device with an RF tag incorporated into a case and a mobile telephone 50 with an RF tag reader 60 reading the RF tag and carrying out an operation related to the RF tag. A quick access, in which a user bypasses a normal input means such as a key pad by operating the device so as to carry out the operation, in which the RF tag is read by the RF tag reader 60 and which is related to the RF tag, when the user intends to carry out any operation of the telephone and which does not require the tracing of a menu regarding frequently used functions and operation, is provided. The access to these frequently used functions can be changed into intuitive one by connecting a body, with which a hand can be touched, such as the deice to the operation. Abstract:
A system including a device including an RF tag embedded in a casing, and a mobile phone having an RF tag reader which is operable upon reading the RF tag to perform an operation associated with said RF tag. When the user wants to perform a certain operation with the phone, he can by-pass the normal input technologies, typically a keypad, by manoeuvring the device such that the RIF tag is read by the RF tag reader, and then the personal communication apparatus performs an operation associated with the RF tag. Thus, the present invention offers rapid access to regularly used functions or operations without the need to navigate a menu. Moreover, access to these regularly used functions is made intuitive by associating a physical object, i.e. the device, with an operation.
