Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a melt spinning device including a spinning pack accompanying a die tip block having a recess accompanying a converging part of sloping troughs terminating on a line of filament extruding holes. SOLUTION: The recess selectively receives constituting inserts such as a parallel insert or a coating and core insert, fluidizes the inserts and converging part of the recess part into two sheets and combines them at the filament extruding holes. The spinning pack is constituted to form filaments having different cross section of two different materials by inserting the either inserts. Separation of two liquids inhibits an early interaction of two liquid flows and minimizes an unstable character of the boundary of liquid flow. Formation of shots reduces and other essential properties of the final product are improved as the result of minimizing the unstableness. The liquid materials of each type are maintained at an optimum temperature for a proper extruding.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air management control system which does not need a dumper and other manual adjustments over a wide process air speed range. SOLUTION: An air handler for collecting air discharged from a melt spinning apparatus. The air handier includes an outer housing having walls defining a first interior space. One of the walls has an intake opening for receiving the discharged air. Another wall has an exhaust opening for discharging the air. The intake opening is in fluid communication with the first interior space. An inner housing is positioned within the first interior space and has walls defining a second interior space. At least one of the walls of the inner housing has an opening. The first interior space communicates with the second interior space through the opening. The second interior space is in fluid communication with the exhaust opening.

An apparatus 10 for jetting liquid material in desired patterns includes a jetting module 18 that is couplable to a source of liquid material 12. A piston 46 is disposed for movement within an interior chamber 42 to rapidly develop high pressure within the module 18 so that liquid material 12 is jetted from through a pattern plate 70 in a desired pattern.
