Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for distributing a material containing an adhesive on a substrate containing a box and a carton. SOLUTION: Either of a first or a second dispenser is made to function in a distribution and standby mode, or both distribute at least a part of the distribution pattern. When a trouble of one side of the dispensers is detected, the dispenser with trouble is allowed not to function, and besides by distributing a complete pattern by the other dispenser, production is maintained.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for dispensing material, including adhesives, onto a substrate, including boxes and cartoons. A first and second dispenser are either operated in a dispense and standby mode or both dispense at least a portion of the dispensed pattern. The detection of a failure of one of the dispensing guns causes the other gun to dispense the complete pattern while de-activating the failed gun thereby maintaining production.
