    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a flowable nail varnish which can easily be applied and give a uniformly chased appearance having good visibility after applied by dissolving pyrogenic silica, a metal pigment, a specific organopolysiloxane, and a coating film-forming polymer in an organic solvent. SOLUTION: This nail varnish is produced by dissolving (A) pyrogenic silica, (B) a metal pigment, (C) an organopolysiloxane, and (D) a coating film-forming polymer in an organic solvent. The component C has hydrocarbon groups in an average amount of 1.99 to 2.01 per silicon atom, comprises units of the formula: RMeSi0 (R is a 1-3C aliphatic group) in an amount of >=50% and units of the formula: R'SiO(2-n/2) [(n) is 1 to 3; R' is a monovalent hydrocarbon group] in the remaining amount, and has a viscosity of O.0002 to 0.01 m2/s in a 10 wt.% xylene solution at 25 deg.C. The weight ratio of the components A/D excludes 0.116. The composition is especially useful as a top coating for human nails.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a coloured cosmetic base or composition comprising, in a physiologically acceptable medium: (i) a pigmentary phase comprising at least one non-white coloured pigment, present in a total content of at least 13% by weight relative to the total weight of the said composition, (ii) at least 1% by weight of at least one clay relative to the total weight of the said composition, (iii) at least one non-emulsifying crosslinked silicone elastomer in the form of non-spherical particles, (iv) at least one silicone oil with a viscosity at room temperature of less than 20 centistokes (cSt) and preferably less than 10 cSt, preferably present in a content ranging from 40% to 75% by weight relative to the said composition.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart an inhomogeneous make-up and/or a discontinuous film on the skin and dermatoskeleton appendages and shows excellent adhesion with time and usefully do makeup to nail enamel or the like. SOLUTION: (A) The first film-forming layer including (i) a medium that is acceptable as a cosmetic and at least one of (ii) the first film-forming polymer is applied to skin, lips and/or dermoskeleton appendages where the component A can form a film having a hardness d1 in the range of from 20-85 seconds. Thereafter, the first layer is at least partially coated with (B) the second layer of the second film-forming composition containing the component (i) and (iii) the second film-forming polymer where the component B can form a film having the hardness of such a d2 giving >=10 seconds of (d2-d1).
