Abstract:
Nonionic amphiphilic compounds derived from glycerol having the formula (I): where A is -OR, -SR, or , R being a saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon radical and n represents a value equal to 2 or a mean statistical value n greater than 1 or at most equal to 6, and the intermediates in the preparation of formula (II): where A and n have the same meaning as above. These compounds are surface-active or emulsifying agents and some of them are capable of forming vesicles.
Abstract:
Surface-active statistical oligomers of the formula R1O[[C2H3O(CH2XR2)O]m[C2H3(CH2Y)O]nH] (I) in which R1 denotes a C4-C30 optionally substituted, aliphatic or cycloaliphatic radical, R2 denotes a C5-C20 alkyl radical, m and n, which are identical or different, denote a number from 1 to 25, X denotes -CH2-, -O- or in which u=0 or 1, and Y denotes a group: +TR (in which M denotes a hydrogen atom or an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal), an amine group, an amine salt or ammonium are described as well as processes for their preparation and novel intermediates used in these processes. These surface-active oligomers possess a low aggressiveness towards the skin and mucous membranes and ae suitable for use in cosmetic compositions and for dispersing hydrocarbons.
