Abstract:
Disclosed herein is hair cosmetic composition comprising a thiol-based compound selected from thiolactic acid and its derivatives or salts, and wherein the composition has a pH of less than 7. Also disclosed is a process for shaping or 5 altering the shape of hair or caring of the hair.
Abstract:
The invention relates to novel cosmetic compositions comprising, in a cosmetically acceptable medium, at least one fructan, at least one polysaccharide and at least one beneficial agent; a combination which gives the cosmetic compositions a velvety-smooth texture. Said compositions can be easily rinsed off. Hair treated with said composition feels soft and contains no residue. The compositions are particularly suitable for washing and/or conditioning keratinous matter, such as the hair and skin.
Abstract:
The invention relates to novel hair detergent and conditioning compositions comprising, in a cosmetically acceptable medium, an anionic surfactant, an amphoteric surfactant, at least one amphoteric polysaccharide selected from among celluloses, inulins and guar gums and with at least one water-insoluble conditioning agent selected from A) synthetic oils, B) silicones having a viscosity greater than or equal to 1,000 mm2/s, polysiloxanes, the general structure thereof comprising one or more organofunctional groups, C) animal or vegetal oils, D) waxes, E) carboxylic acid esters, F) ceramide-type compounds. The inventive compositions are intended for hair care and cleaning.
Abstract:
The invention concerns novel cosmetic compositions comprising in a cosmetically acceptable medium at least a fructan and at least a cationic polymer. Said combination provides a flow texture to cosmetic compositions, said compositions are easily rinsed. Hair treated with said composition have a soft feel free of residues. Said compositions are used for washing and/or conditioning keratinous materials such as hair or skin.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition improved in cosmetic characteristics such as easiness of unraveling, smoothness and pliability of hair by including a specific conditioner and a specified amphoteric polymer in a medium. SOLUTION: This composition comprises (A) at least one conditioner selected from a synthetic oil, a vegetable oil, a vegetable wax and a ceramide type compound and (B) at least one amphoteric polymer containing at least one kind of monomer of an acrylate or a methacrylate or an acrylamide or a methacrylamide type having at least one 8-30C aliphatic chain. The above amphoteric polymer preferably contains the aliphatic chain-containing monomer in an amount of 1-20 mol%, preferably 1.5-15 mol% based on the total number of mol of the monomer. For example, a monomer represented by the formula (R1 and R2 are each H or methyl; R3 to R5 are each a 1-30C alkyl; Z is NH or O; (n) is 2-5; A- is an anion derived from an organic or an inorganic acid) is cited as the monomer used.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new self-adhesive cationic or amphoteric polyurethane and its use for cosmetics. SOLUTION: The self adhesive cationic or amphoteric polyurethane has at least one tertiary or quaternary amine functional group and an equal to 11N or larger self-adhesive value [represented by a maximum tensile force (F max (N))] which is recorded when being separated by pulling two circular surfaces of 0.95 cm 2 coated with the urethane). Further, these self adhesive cationic polyurethane is used for cosmetics, particularly a styling composition. In addition, the cosmetic composition is applied to hair and then the styling method comprises rinsing hair, forming and drying the rinsed hair. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair styling composition which can easily restore and correct hair styles, facilitates a combing treatment, and gives a soft feeling appearance to the hair. SOLUTION: This hair-styling composition comprises a (meth)acrylic copolymer having (a) units derived from at least one monomer selected from butyl (meth)acrylates, (b) units derived from at least one monomer selected from hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate monomers, and (c), if necessary, units derived from at least one copolymerizable monomer except the monomers (a) and (b) in a cosmetically acceptable vehicle. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleansing cosmetic composition having improved cosmetic characteristics with respect to being ready to disentangle the hair, smoothness and wiriness of the hair. SOLUTION: This cleansing cosmetic composition is obtained by incorporating a cosmetologically acceptable medium with at least one anionic surfactant selected from at least one N-acylated compound of mono- or polyamidated polycarboxylamino acid and salts thereof and at least one insoluble conditioning agent selected from synthetic oils, mineral oils, vegetable oils, fluorinated or perfluorinated oils, natural or synthetic wax, ceramide-type compounds and carboxylic esters selected from monoalcohol esters and >=3C polyol esters.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cosmetic composition for washing having improved easiness of loosening entanglement, smoothness and flexibility of hair by including a non-cellulosic cationic polymer, an anionic surfactant and salts in a medium. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by including (A) preferably 0.001-10 wt.% based on the whole weight of the composition of at least one non-cellulosic cationic polymer having >=2 meq/g cationic charge density, (B) 1-30 wt.% of at least one 2-hydroxyalkylcarboxylic anionic surfactant, (C) their salts, and further preferably (D) 0.5-40 wt.% of at least one additive surfactant selected from an anionic, cationic, nonionic and amphoteric surfactants, and their mixture in a cosmetically permissible medium. Preferably, the component B has the formula (R1 is an 8-30C alkyl; X is H or a cation).
