Abstract:
A recording medium stores a retail content and a superdistribution content that is encrypted according to a block cryptosystem. A superdistribution header is attached to the superdistribution content and encrypted according to a public key cryptosystem. The superdistribution header contains a decryption key used to decrypt the block cryptosystem. The public key cryptosystem is characterized by using a device connected to a communication network for decryption. The decryption is performed when the recording medium is loaded into the device with a fee being charged via the communication network.
Abstract:
A digital data recording apparatus for recording digital data on a recording medium, comprises: communication means (100) for receiving encrypted digital data via a digital network; decryption means (105) for decrypting the encrypted digital data that has been received by the communication means; encryption means (110) including a plurality of encryption units (111,112,113) that re-encrypt digital data that has been decrypted by the decryption means in encryption systems having different security levels; recording means (115) for recording digital data that has been re-encrypted by the encryption means on the recording medium; designation reception means (117) for receiving, from a user, an instruction regarding designation of one of the plurality of encryption units, the designation encryption unit being for re-encrypting the digital data that has been decrypted by the decryption means; and a controller (109) for controlling the decryption means, the encryption means and the designation reception means, characterised in that the controller has the designated encryption unit re-encrypt the digital data that has been decrypted by the decryption means.
Abstract:
IN THIS INVENTION, AS SHOWN IN 1, A STREAM ATTRIBUTE DECISION MEANS (101) FOR DECIDING WHETHER AN AUDIO DATA STREAM SUPPLIED FROM THE OUTSIDE HAS BEEN COMPRESSED OR NOT IS PROVIDED, AND A COMPRESSION ID FLAG FCO HAVING A VALUE ACCORDING TO THE RESULT OF THIS DECISION IS ATTACHED TO THE AUDIO DATA STREAM, AND THE FLAG-ATTACHED AUDIO DATA STREAM IS WRITTEN IN THE STREAM STORAGE UNIT (L00B). THEREBY, AFTER A COMPRESSED AUDIO DATA STREAM FROM THE OUTSIDE IS READ FROM THE STREAM STORAGE UNIT, A WATERMARK CAN BE INSERTED INTO THE COMPRESSED AUDIO DATA STREAM. THEREFORE, THE TIME REQUIRED FOR WRITING THE COMPRESSED AUDIO DATA STREAM INTO THE STREAM STORAGE UNIT IS REDUCED, AND THE SOUND QUALITY OF ANALOG AUDIO DATA OBTAINED BY REPRODUCING THE COMPRESSED AUDIO DATA STREAM IS PREVENTED FROM BEING DEGRADED. 1
Abstract:
A terminal device 102 includes a transmission/reception unit 306 that transmits, to a server device 101, information necessary for judgment as to whether to permit use of content. The server device 101 includes: a judgment unit 204 that judges whether to permit the terminal device 102 to use the content, based on terminal device management information set by a content provider, and the information necessary for the judgment and received from the terminal device 102; a notification data storage unit 203 that stores notifications to be presented to a user of the terminal device 102; and a transmission/reception unit 205 that transmits either information necessary for use of the content or one of the notifications according to a result of the judgment by the judgment unit 204.
