Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a radio base station serving a user equipment in a first radio cell of a mobile communication system. The radio base station comprises processing circuitry which determines that a neighbor radio base station does not provide a beamformed reference signal to the user equipment. The neighbor radio base station controls the transmission in its neighbor radio cell of an omni-directional reference signal and the beamformed reference signal. A transmitter transmits a reference signal request to the neighbor radio base station. The reference signal request requests the neighbor radio base station to provide the beamformed reference signal to the user equipment. A receiver receives from the neighbor radio base station a reference signal request response, including information on the transmission of the requested beamformed reference signal. The transmitter transmits a notification to the user equipment, comprising information on the requested beamformed reference signal.

The user equipment comprises a transceiver which, in operation, receives an indication indicating a priority level to be enforced, and circuitry which, in operation, compares a priority level of a first uplink transmission with the indicated priority level to be enforced, the first uplink transmission being granted to the UE prior to scheduling of a second uplink transmission allocated to resources overlapping with resources allocated to the first uplink transmission, wherein the transceiver, in operation, performs the first uplink transmission based on a result of the comparison.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a user equipment (UE) which monitors, during a first time period, a downlink channel of an unlicensed radio cell for a channel occupancy signal transmitted by a base station via the unlicensed radio cell. The channel occupancy signal indicates that the base station occupies the downlink channel. The UE receives the channel occupancy signal during the first time period from the base station and determines that the base station occupies the downlink channel based on the received channel occupancy signal. After determining that the base station occupies the downlink channel, the UE monitors, during a second time period, the downlink channel for downlink control information regarding a downlink transmission to be received by the user equipment. The UE receives the downlink control information during the second time period and receives subsequently the downlink transmission from the base station based on the received downlink control information.

Abstract: A user equipment receives random access configuration parameters from its base station. A processor of the UE controls to repeatedly perform a prioritized RACH procedure with the base station, based on the received parameters, for a time period up to an end of a primary time interval or until a maximum number of RACH procedures is reached or until successful completion of the prioritized RACH procedure with the base station. The primary time interval comprises a plurality of secondary time intervals. The processor, when controlling to repeatedly perform the prioritized RACH procedure, determines random access parameters, which are valid for the duration of the respective secondary time interval in which the respective prioritized RACH procedure is performed, based on the received random access configuration parameters and depending on the respective secondary time interval. A transmitter transmits messages of the respective prioritized RACH procedure using the determined valid random access parameters.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a user equipment comprising a receiver receiving a minimum-system-information message from a first radio base station. System information for the first radio cell that can be acquired by the UE is UE Start carried within the minimum-SI message and one or more additional-SI messages. The minimum-SI message includes system information for accessing the first radio cell and at least one system information index, each of which is associated with one of the additional-SI messages. The SI message index comprises a value tag and an area pointer, the latter pointing to one area already defined. Processing circuitry determines whether the UE had already acquired before the additional-SI message associated with the same value tag and the same area. If the determination is positive, the processing circuitry determines that system information included in said additional-SI message acquired before is applicable to the first radio cell.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a user equipment (UE) that comprises a receiver of the UE receives, from a source base station of a source radio cell, a common timing advance value for a target radio cell. The UE is connected to the source radio cell and is involved in a handover procedure to hand over the UE from the source radio cell to the target radio cell. Further, the common timing advance value is received from the source base station in a first message of the handover procedure, which also comprises a timing indication for transmitting a second message from the UE to the target base station. Then, a processor of the UE determines a first uplink timing of uplink transmissions to the target base station with respect to downlink transmissions from the target base station, based on the received common timing advance value and the timing indication. A transmitter of the UE transmits a second message of the handover procedure to the target base station based on the determined uplink timing. The processor determines a UE-specific timing advance value, specific to the UE and the target radio cell, to be used by the UE for performing uplink transmissions in the target radio cell.
