CONSTITUTION: A paper substrate web is provided with a cellulose fiber region. The cellulose fiber is a microcrystalline cellulose, bacterial cellulose, finely fibrillated cellulose, etc., and the paper web can be printed or coated.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a paper wrapper for a smoking product with controlled burn rate, puff count and tar delivery and without spoiling flavor wherein the specified amount of the specified calcium carbonate having respectively specified weight and porosity is contained. CONSTITUTION: This paper wrapper for a smoking product contains 20 to 40 wt.% of calcium carbonate having an average particle size of 0.02 to 1 μm. The paper wrapper has a weight of 18 to 39 g/m and a specific porosity of 5-50 coresta units. It is preferable to contain 0.5 to 3 wt.% of a burn control additive such as ammonium dihydrogen phosphate in the paper wrapper.

CONSTITUTION: This article comprises a cellulose base web, a filler and 0.5-12 wt.%, preferably 5 wt.% of an organic acid (e.g. succinic acid, malonic acid, etc.). Preferably calcium carbonate having >=20 m /g surface area is used as the filler and the amount of the filler packed is 30%. Preferably the article has 40-75 g/m ream weight and 3-8 Coresta unit porosity.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain the objective wrapper comprising a single cellulosic sheet formed from multiple layers of a cellulosic sheet material, reducing the amount of sidestream smoke, economically usable as the wrapper for a smoking article and comprising a single sheet of paper. CONSTITUTION: This wrapper comprises a single cellulosic sheet formed from multiple layers of a cellulosic sheet material. The sheet preferably has about 40-100 g/m basis weight and is preferably perforated at a porosity of about 20-60 cm /min air permeation determined by the well-known Coresta method. Furthermore, the wrapper is formed from an outer layer having about 30 to about 40 wt.% filler loading employing a filler having about 30 to 60 g/m basis weight and about 10 to 80 m /g surface area by the BET method and an inner layer having about 2 to 15% filler loading employing a filler having about 10 to 40 g/m basis weight and about 7 to 10 m /g surface area is preferably obtained.
