Abstract:
The mobile unit (14) (e.g. PDA) controls a player unit (22) of the image display apparatus (12). This shows an image on the apparatus (12) display (24) or main screen, for an audience. A representation of this image is transmitted to the mobile unit, where it is shown on a further display (18). An Independent claim is included for the corresponding method of display.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a network having at least one slave terminal and a master terminal that is connected thereto and that is provided for charging at least one slave terminal with requests to search for at least one other terminal to be incorporated in the network. After receiving a request, a non-incorporated terminal transmits a response to the requesting slave terminal and the requesting slave terminal forwards the response to the master terminal.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for the exchange of personal information in non-trusted peer-to-peer environments in a step-by-step fashion, in which the information preferably prepared as a graphics display is segmented into several individual sections and is subsequently alternately exchanged between the communication partners.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for operating a decision support system (DSS) with a Bayesian Network (BN), the Bayesian Network having conditional probabilities (CP) assigned to each node. There is applied a confidence measure (CM) during use of the decision support system (DSS) on a probability of interest (POI) in a node of interest (NOI), wherein the confidence measure (CM) is a measure for the change of the probability of interest (POI) with respect to a change in one conditional probability (CP_i=x). The invention can quite significantly increase the confidence in the proposed decision of the DSS. The DSS can, indirectly or indirectly, utilise one or more confidence measures (CM) as an input to the proposed decisions or tests to be made by the user; e.g., a clinician considering whether or not to make a certain diagnostic test can be informed of the confidence measure (CM) associated with the diagnostic value of the test as calculated from the BN.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a wireless network comprising at least two terminals which each contain a UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) software component and a UPnP controller software component. According to the invention, the UPnP controller software component of a terminal forwards specific messages from the associated UPnP software component to subordinate software components only following a change in the network topology.
Abstract:
A method of clinical workflow management and decision making comprises receiving clinical information from a hospital information system ( 100 ), combining and reconciling the clinical information for use during management of a particular clinical problem of a patient under consideration, and providing access to the combined and reconciled clinical information via a graphical user interface ( 200 ) that comprises a plurality of interactive display regions ( 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 ). Combining and reconciling the clinical information ( 102 ) comprises repeatedly analyzing the clinical information for: (a) determining an overview of clinical actions as a function of the clinical information, (b) examining whether clinical actions adhere to a predetermined protocol, the predetermined protocol including (i) one or more ideal clinical actions and (ii) a timing for an occurrence of the one or more ideal clinical actions as a function of the clinical information and the particular clinical problem, and (c) determining suggested next step information suitable for use in assisting with diagnostic and therapeutic decisions to be made by one or more healthcare providers in conjunction with treatment of the particular clinical problem.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a health care data management system comprising a workflow management system and a decision support system, as well as to a corresponding computer program product and a method. The decision support system comprises a probabilistic expert system for medical advice and is arranged to create a query to be sent to the workflow management system. It is also arranged to receive a corresponding answer determined by the workflow management system. This answer comprises entity allocation data relating to the allocation of an entity handled by the workflow management system. Furthermore, the decision support system is arranged to utilize the data as probabilistic input variable(s) for the expert system. Such a system has the advantage of combining up-to-date patient data and organisational data (resource allocation), which is managed by the workflow management system, with the profound medical expertise of a decision support system.
