Abstract: The present invention refers to a method and a bit stream decoding unit for bit stream decoding. The bit stream comprises a number of consecutive samples. In order to provide a possibility of fast and in particular reliable decoding of the bit stream, it is suggested that a detection window comprising a number of samples is defined; the detection window is positioned at certain positions on the bit stream in order to comprise certain samples with respective sample values; a majority voting is applied to the sample values comprised by the detection window; and according to the result of the majority voting the bit stream is decoded and respective bit values are generated.

Abstract: The invention describes a method for the monitoring and management of data traffic in a communication system with several communication nodes which communicate via interfaces monitored by a bus monitor, comprising the following steps: a) provision of a predefined communication time schedule for all communication nodes, b) initialization of the bus monitor, c) synchronization of the communication time schedule of the bus monitor with the predefined communication time schedule executed by the communication nodes in a distributed arrangement, the synchronization taking place on the basis of activities observed at the interfaces, d) monitoring of the activities of the communication nodes by the bus monitor, e) comparison of the activities with the predefined communication time schedule, and f) deactivation of the interface for any communication node for which an activity not compatible with the predefined communication time schedule has been detected. A circuit arrangement and its use are also described.

Abstract: The arrangement has at least 2 nodes provided with communications schedule time slices for access to a transmission medium. Each node has at least one communications controlerss with a first scheduler for controlling access according to the schedule; the network has at least one bus monitor with a second scheduler for monitoring access to the medium by nodes according to a monitoring schedule. A global clock signal is used to control both schedulers. The arrangement has at least two nodes between which data are transferred over a transmission medium and that are provided with time slices for access to the medium in a communications schedule. Each node has at least one communications controlers with a first scheduler for controlling access in accordance with the schedule and the network has at least one bus monitor with a second scheduler for monitoring access to the medium by nodes in accordance with a monitoring schedule. A global clock signal is used to control both schedulers. AN Independent claim is also included for a method of controlling an inventive arrangement.
