Abstract:
Process and machine for manufacturing a harness (33) of electrical or tubular type wires of finite length including at least one branching point for a derived branch, by sheathing said elements with insulating hot-melt tape (31) transversally wrapped about the harness, the longitudinal edges (31a, 31b) of said tape being joined by welding. Two rows of rollers (9 to 14) drive the harness (33) and the tape (31) on which rest said rollers. The tape is previously V shaped by means of a guide located upstream of said rollers. The rows of rollers define between them a path (18) for the harness which is open at the top part under a first horizontal guide (23) which serves to fold down one of the V legs onto the harness, under a duct blowing hot air into the angle formed by the folded V leg (31a) and the non-folded V leg (31b), and under a second horizontal guide (25) for folding the second V leg (31b) onto the first leg (31b) already folded.
