    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to effectively introduce gases into a liquid pool while averting the drastic damage to a gas injector induced by the contact of molten metal, etc., with the liquid pool by forming a flame enclosure formed by burning fuel and oxidant to the circumference of the main gaseous flow emerging from a central main orifice. SOLUTION: A lance 1 is constituted by concentrically providing the lance with a central conduit 2 and first and second annular passages 3, 4. The main orifice terminating at the injection end 5 of the lance 1 is formed at the central conduit 2. Orifices 7, 8 terminating at the injection end 5 are formed in the respective annular passages 3, 4 as well and are formed as a hole group arrayed to constitute a circle encircling the main orifice. A main gaseous source is passed to the central conduit 2 and a fuel source is passed to the first annular passage 3 and an oxygen source to the second annular passage 4, respectively. The flame enclosure 33 formed by mixing and burning the fuel and oxidant is formed around the main gaseous flow 30 emerging from the main orifice, by which the introduction of the gases into the liquid, such as molten metal, is made possible.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jet injector lance in which a gas jetting flow is sufficiently penetrated and poured below the liquid level of molten metal regardless of the case that the tip part of a pouring device can be positioned to a considerably far position from the liquid level. SOLUTION: The injector nozzle is composed of (A) a injector assembly 3 provided with (1) a nozzle having a primary passage 2, a pouring space 6, an inlet 4 communicated with the primary passage and an outlet 5 communicated with the pouring space, (2) a first secondary passage 7 apart from the primary passage in the radial direction and communicated with the injection space and (3) a second secondary passage 8 apart from the first secondary passage in the radial direction and communicated with the injection space and (B) a jacket 9 demarcating the injection space by extending and passing through the outlet position of the nozzle and covering the injector assembly.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for effectively supplying main gas into a molten metal pool part, particularly useful to use in an electric arc furnace. SOLUTION: In this method, the combustion of fuel with secondary oxygen is used to form the glame envelope around the flow of the main gas for protecting from being accompanied with the surrounding gas at the time of passing through the head space of the furnace. This method can hold the original power to the plactical degree at the time of pouring the gas into the head space and thus, the gas can be flowed into the further in the safe distance from the molten metal surface, and further, substantially full invasion onto the molten metal can be achieved.
