Abstract:
Abstract:
Implementations of the technology described herein provide a method for detecting gesture commands using an ultrasonic pen system. The system has a pen and a user device. Detection of gesture commands is based on two-dimensional gestures relative to the screen of a user device, three-dimensional gestures relative to the screen of the user device, roll/rotation around a longitudinal axis of the pen body, and micro-twisting around the longitudinal axis of the pen body. The user device receives the gestures and translates them into commands such as UNDO and BACK.
Abstract:
A method for transmitting data in a code division multiple access (CDMA) communication network, consisting of allocating a common Walsh code to a gro up of transceivers, and allocating a respective, different long code to each transceiver in the group. The method further includes time-multiplexing transmission of the data to the transceivers in the group by applying the common Walsh code and the respective long code of each transceiver to data packets directed to the transceivers so as to form multiplexed data packets. The multiplexed data packets are transmitted in sequence over the network to the group of transceivers.
Abstract:
Apparatuses and methods to establish and share resources over a personal area network are provided. The units sharing similar functions or common applications are connected by a personal area network such as a ZigBee network such that a selected one of the units sharing the functions or applications runs the application or function for each of the connected units, the similar function or common applications may include, for example, location determinations, data transmission, or the like. The selection of the one unit to run the application may be based on battery charge, processor capacity, or the like.
Abstract:
A mobile media device may preemptively switch from a terrestrial video signal of a simulcast to a mobile video signal of the same simulcast upon detecting displacement motion. In one example, an apparatus includes a display configured to display video data, and a signal selection unit configured to determine whether the apparatus is moving, wherein the signal selection unit is configured to cause the display to display video data from a terrestrial signal of a simulcast broadcast when the apparatus does not detect displacement motion, and wherein the signal selection unit is configured to cause the display to display video data from a mobile signal of the simulcast broadcast when the signal selection unit detects displacement motion. In this manner, the apparatus may avoid loss of data from the terrestrial video signal that may be caused while moving.
Abstract:
Positions in a region serviced by a short range wireless network are established by defining a grid for the region. The grid is divided into a plurality of cells having a predetermined size. A plurality of static nodes can be placed in the cells. A network identifier that is associated with a standard protocol for the network is assigned to each of the static nodes. The identifier is assigned so as to identify the node and to represent a set of X, Y coordinates associated the cell where static node is located. The X,Y coordinate are assigned to the identifier without deviating from the standard protocol. The identifier is periodically broadcast from the static nodes. A cell of the grid within which a mobile node is located is estimated based on the identifier and an additional parameter received from one of the static nodes.
