Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate connection for a mobile station for wireless communication.SOLUTION: A control processor of a mobile station is configured to generate a message for transmission on a reverse channel, which includes a first protocol revision field and a second protocol revision field. The first protocol revision field is for indicating a message format supported by the mobile station and the second protocol revision field is for indicating a set of mandatory features supported by the mobile station.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method that does not require tests and network upgrades, in view of the situations that serial numbers (ESNs) may be depleted, prior to such a test and network upgrades are completed due to the proliferation of mobile stations, or the like, even though the need to ensure that mobile stations have backward compatibility with IS-2000 Revision 0, A, B and C and the network requires a suitable functional upgrade. SOLUTION: A mobile station for wireless communication includes a control processor is configured (step 402) for generating a message for transmission on a reverse channel so that the message includes a first protocol revision field and a second protocol revision field. The first protocol revision field is for indicating a message format supported by the mobile station, and the second protocol revision field is for indicating a set of mandatory features supported by the mobile station, with the set of mandatory features being defined by a standard revision. Abstract:
Apparatus and methods are described for establishing a connection to a wireless subscriber network over a wireless LAN. A secure tunnel is established between a PDIF and a mobile station. Both voice and data calls are exchange via the tunnel. Voice calls are forwarded to a SIP GW while data calls are routed to the Internet.
