PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for giving a test framework where multimedia APIs are exercised and tested independently of multimedia applications in a wireless device, and a method.SOLUTION: The apparatus may include a multimedia test engine operable to exercise and test multimedia application programming interfaces (APIs) of a wireless device on the basis of the execution of test setting comprising a test script downloaded to the wireless device. The test engine is resident in a memory on the wireless device and is operable to collect multimedia test data and, in some aspects, wireless device performance data on the basis of the test configuration and forward the collected data to another device operable to analyze the collected data and generate a multimedia API test report viewable by an authorized user.

SOLUTION: Communication on a wireless network between a computer device and another device is simulated and product-acceptance data generated by this is collected by a wireless device. Abstract:
Apparatus, methods, processors and machine readable media for verifying the integrity of firmware on a wireless device. Aspects include generating a verification scheme for testing the integrity of firmware on a wireless device and transmitting the verification scheme to the wireless device. The wireless device applies the verification scheme to the firmware and obtains a verification test result, which is forwarded for analysis. An analyzer compares the generated verification test result with a predetermined test result to obtain an integrity determination that indicates the integrity of the firmware. In some aspects, control commands to change an operational characteristic of the wireless device may be generated based on the integrity determination.

Apparatus and methods for monitoring usage patterns of a wireless device may include a usage monitoring and reporting module operable to monitor and log usage on a wireless device based on a received usage configuration. Further, based on the usage configuration, the wireless device may forward the log to another device operable to analyze the log and generate a usage pattern report viewable by an authorized user.

Detection and management methods and apparatus for wireless devices may include an executable instruction authorization module operable to scan executable instructions on a wireless device, generate a log indicative of a virus or otherwise unauthorized executable instructions based on a received authorization configuration, and forward the log to a user manager. The user manager may be operable to analyze the log and generate an authorization report which may be viewable by an operator to determine the disposition of unauthorized executable instructions. At least one of the executable instruction authorization module, the user manager, and the operator may be operable to generate a control command operable to delete, or otherwise disable, unauthorized executable instructions on the wireless device, or to restore the executable instructions on the wireless device.

Apparatus and methods for estimating a geographical position corresponding to an event associated with operation of a wireless device communicating in a wireless communications network. The time and distance between the occurrence of the event and the related time and speed of the wireless device of at least one of a first and second geographical position, respectively measured before and after the event, are analysed. These analyses includes comparing those metrics to predetermined time and distance thresholds to associate and/or estimate a geographic position of the wireless device with the event.

Methods, systems, devices and computer program products are presented for identifying a location determination mode based on execution of a mode-selection routine in response to a received location determination request. In certain aspects, identifying a location determination mode may involve sequencing through a plurality of modes until a successful location determination results or until the end of the sequence is reached. In other aspects, selecting a location determination mode may involve determining one or more conditions affecting a location determination mode, and identifying an available mode based on the determined conditions. In this regard, according to some aspects, location determination is performed dynamically in that selection of a location determination mode is carried out for each location request and may take into account current conditions affecting one or more location determination modes.

Apparatus and methods in a load balancer computing apparatus include, in aspects, determining if a master is functioning, and if the master is not functioning, then attempting to become the master by setting a master network identification in a master database table to a self network identification before at least one other slave sets a corresponding other slave network identification as the master network identification in the master database table. In other aspects, the apparatus and methods include assigning each of a group of commands to one of a plurality of slaves, storing the commands and a corresponding assignment in a database table, checking a command status in the database table for each of the group of commands, wherein the command status indicates whether or not the respective command has been executed; and executing a callback function when all the commands are executed.
