Abstract: In a GSM mobile wireless telecommunications system (20), a method for conveying data from terminal equipment (46) to a network (48) via a CDMA air interface, including receiving the data as input from the terminal equipment (46) and transmitting the data at a CDMA data transfer rate over the CDMA air interface. The data are transferred to the network (48) over a GSM A-interface using a GSM circuit switched data protocol.
