The method also includes determining that the component has the selected component type, and using the selected component type to activate the component handler to process the component.

Abstract: A method for automatically processing a component of a selected component type on a device is described. An action list is parsed to obtain a component identifier/action pair that identifies the component to be processed by the device, then a component handler which correlates to the component identifier/action is identified. The component handler is operable to process components having the selected component type. The identified component handler is downloaded if it is not already present on the device and the component is also downloaded to the device. The selected component type is used to activate the component handler to process the component. Apparatus and computer-executable instructions for performing the method are also described.
