Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a message sending method by which a wireless communication mode and a message service can be automatically selected. SOLUTION: A preferred communication mode is selected from a plurality of communication modes supported by a wireless device. A preferred message service is selected on the basis of contents of the message and the preferred communication mode. Then, the compatibility of the preferred message service with an active communication mode of the wireless device is determined. If the preferred message service is compatible with the active communication mode, the message is sent by using the preferred message service according to the active communication mode. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capability to backup cellular telephone provisioning information and personal data from a mobile handset on a server.SOLUTION: A user initializes an account with a service provider with authentication credentials and backs up provisioning information and personal data stored within a mobile handset to a server for safe keeping. The provisioning information and personal data can be accessed via a cellular telephone network so that the provisioning and personal data can be transferred among mobile handsets. This allows a user to restore personal data quickly and easily if a mobile handset is replaced, lost or destroyed. The system and method further provide the capability to remotely provision new mobile handsets.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, a device and a computer-readable medium, for routing a message in a wireless device. SOLUTION: Routing messages in a wireless device includes receiving routing preferences from one or more applications operating with the wireless device. The method further includes receiving a message, and routing the message to the locations dedicated to the one or more applications. The locations may include one or a set of applications, or a memory unit associated with one or more applications. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for providing updated rules governing the switching of enabled provisioning data supporting a wireless service contract.SOLUTION: A mobile device (101) may be initially programmed with a profile data table (405) and a priority list index data table (403) to automatically enable provisioning data supporting one of a plurality of service providers stored in a VSIM internal memory unit to conduct a wireless communication when certain operational parameter values are satisfied. The profile data table and the priority list index data table may be automatically updated in response to a variety of triggers.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for transparent broadcast services for a multi-mode wireless device. SOLUTION: In order to provide "transparent" broadcast services for a multi-mode wireless device capable of communicating with multiple wireless communication networks, a composite set of pertinent parameters for broadcast messages used by the multiple networks is defined. The parameters of the broadcast message for each network are mapped to corresponding parameters in the composite set. The composite set of parameters is used for processing and displaying broadcast messages received from the multiple networks. A broadcast message for each network is received and processed in accordance with the parameters of the message and filtering configurations applicable for the network. The parameters of the broadcast message are mapped to corresponding parameters in the composite set. The broadcast message is further processed and displayed based on the parameters in the composite set. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for facilitating handover in a TD-SCDMA system is provided. The method may comprise transmitting data to a serving Node B using a first set of assigned resources, and contemporaneously transmitting the data to at least one neighbor Node B using a second set of assigned resources.
Abstract:

Abstract:
Techniques to provide the current status of voice and data applications in wireless devices. Annunciators are provided for these applications and are displayed as appropriate to indicate their current status. Certain applications may further be associated with additional menu screens to allow the user to view additional information. In one method, the current status of a particular application supported by the wireless device is initially determined. This application may be voice call handling, data call handling, voice recognition, voice memo, answering machine, or some other application. An annunciator indicative of the current status of the application is then provided, if required. A menu screen with a listing of all items (e.g., missed calls, recorded voice memos, recorded messages, or data calls) may be displayed when requested, and additional information for a selected item may also be provided if requested. The annunciator is cleared if all items are cleared.
