Abstract: Un procedimiento para realizar el control de la potencia de transmisión en una unidad de abonado sobre una señal de enlace inverso transmitida a una potencia de transmisión de enlace inverso, en el que la señal de enlace inverso tiene un canal de tráfico transmitido a una potencia de transmisión de canal de tráfico, y un canal piloto transmitido a una potencia de transmisión de canal piloto, comprendiendo los pasos de: medir en una estación base una energía de recepción del canal piloto de enlace inverso; generar un comando de control de la potencia de acuerdo con una comparación de la mencionada medida de energía de recepción con un umbral de energía, en el que el mencionado comando de control de la potencia comprende un comando de aumento o de disminución; recibir dicho comando de control de la potencia en la mencionada unidad de abonado; y caracterizado por: examinar dicho comando de control de la potencia en la mencionada unidad de abonado para determinar si el comando se va a aplicar al canal de tráfico de enlace inverso, al canal piloto de enlace inverso o a toda la señal de enlace inverso; y ajustar de manera selectiva la potencia de transmisión de el canal de piloto de enlace inverso, el canal de tráfico de enlace inverso o toda la señal de enlace inverso de acuerdo con el paso de examen.

Abstract: A novel and improved method for performing transmit power control is described. A signal is transmitted at a transmit power and includes a traffic channel transmitted at a traffic channel transmit power, and a pilot channel transmitting at a pilot channel transmit power. The receive energy of the pilot channel is measured, and compared with a threshold. A power control command is generated and transmitted to the system generating the signal. This determines whether the command is to be applied to either the traffic channel, the pilot channel, or the entire signal. The power of the determined channel(s) is adjusted accordingly.
