Abstract: Techniques related to communication device groups and relaying wireless signaling are disclosed. Some aspects of the disclosure relate to devices and methods for receiving an indication configured to indicate that a first device (e.g., a destination user equipment (UE) ) is to monitor: at least one first radio link, and at least one second radio link, for at least one data flow. The first device may receive: a first portion of the at least one data flow including DL data over the at least one first radio link, and/or a second portion of the at least one data flow including relay data over the at least one second radio link. The device may transmit an indication corresponding to at least one of: the DL data or the relay data. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for a device such as a user equipment (UE), a base station, or both, to perform a channel noise and interference estimation based on a set of null resources in a data channel. The device may identify a first configuration for a set of demodulation reference signals (DMRSs) in a first set of time periods of a data channel and a second configuration for a set of null resources in a second set of time periods of the data channel. The second set of time periods may be nonoverlapping with the first set of time periods. The device may perform a channel estimation procedure on the data channel based on the null resources and the DMRS resources. The device may process data received via resources of the data channel based on the channel estimation procedure.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a base station, a UE capability message indicating support for at least a first demodulation mode or a second demodulation mode. The first demodulation mode may correspond to a single demodulation procedure associated with a set of antenna ports at the UE, and the second demodulation mode may correspond to multiple demodulation procedures, each procedure associated with a respective subset of antenna ports at the UE. In some cases, the UE may flexibly switch between demodulation modes. The UE may receive, from the base station, one or more downlink signals via one or more downlink beams based on the indication of the first demodulation mode or the second demodulation mode. The UE may demodulate the one or more downlink signals based on the indicated (e.g., an active) demodulation mode.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for managing downlink signal reception. In one aspect, a wireless device may receive, from a first transmit receive point (TRP) and a second TRP, a tracking reference signal (TRS) port in a combined signal and may select from the TRS a first transmission control indicator (TCI) state identifier associated with the first TRP and a second TCI state identifier associated with the second TRP. The wireless device may select large scale channel properties for the first and second TRPs associated with the TCI state identifiers, and may adjust downlink signal reception from each of the first TRP and the second TRP associated with the respective large scale channel properties.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may use cover coding for sounding reference signal (SRS) resources for performing antenna switching. The UE may receive a configuration for a reference signal resource set for transmitting a reference signal for antenna switching, the configuration including an indication of a type of time division cover coding for repetitions of the reference signal and an indication of a type of frequency hopping. The UE may determine a reference signal resource for transmission of the reference signal based on the configuration and the type of frequency hopping. The UE may then transmit a set of repetitions of the reference signal over the determined reference signal resource according to the type of time division cover coding.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described to support complexity reduction for a control resource set (CORESET). A low complexity user equipment (UE) may experience reduced performance if a number of resource block (RB) groups in a CORESET is above a given threshold, or if any symbols of a CORESET are multiplexed with any other signal or channel. A base station may configure a CORESET for a low complexity UE to support reduction in complexity of information detection compared with a CORESET configured for other UEs. The configured CORESET may be based on one or more capabilities of a low complexity UE and may include a reduced number of RB groups or may avoid overlapping with any other signal or channel. If a CORESET configured for a low complexity UE is does not support complexity reduction, the UE may suppress decoding search space candidates on the CORESET.
