Abstract: An apparatus for processing television video signals compries a source of television video signals, first means of deriving a first signal including signal components in a frequency range between zero hertz and a frequency f, second means having a peak amplitude response at a frequency between zero hertz and f and a relatively lower amplitude resopnse af frequencies of zero hertz and approximately f, thresholding means for inhibiting amplitude excursions of a second signal above a predetemined threshold level, and output means coupled with the first means and the thresholding means of combining the amplitude inhibited second signal and the first signal.
