    Abstract: A barium-lithium-alumina-borate glass frit includes the following by weight on an oxide basis: 10.5-16.7% BaO; 10-11% Li2O; 2-3% Al2O3; and 70-77% B2O3. The frit can be fired, i.e., fused from powdered form to solid sealing glass, at low temperatures, e.g., about 530 DEG C. Firing can take place in an atmosphere which is inert, oxidizing, or reducing. After firing for a sufficient time, e.g., 3 hours, the sealing glass becomes fully devitrified. The devitrified sealing glass has an expansion coefficient substantially the same as that of window glass, i.e., about 90 x 10-7/ DEG C. The devitrified sealing glass can be reheated to temperatures in excess of 530 DEG C without deterioration or strains developing in a sealed joint.

    Abstract: A description is given of a thick-film resistor ink for producing a resistor film on a printed circuit board. The object is to improve the temperature coefficient of the resistance value of such resistor inks. For this purpose, the resistor ink consists of indium oxide, magnesium oxide, a barium calcium borosilicate glass compound and a suitable organic carrier substance. The temperature coefficient of the resistance can be adjusted with the aid of the magnesium oxide.

    Abstract: Overglaze colours (on-glaze colours) for formation of a protective film over an electrical circuit applied to a substrate, the production of a circuit of this type and the circuit itself are described. The overglaze colour and its starting material should be selected so that they are compatible with underlying layers of the circuit. To this end, the colour comprises a glass powder formed from lead oxide, a modifier containing the oxides of cadmium, zinc, barium and antimony, and a glass-forming component containing aluminium oxide, boron trioxide and silicon dioxide; the colour furthermore contains an organic carrier substance and if desired a colouring oxide.

    Abstract: Partially devitrified porcelain compositions are provided which are comprised of a mixture, based on its oxide content, of barium oxide (BaO), magnesium oxide (McO) or a mixture of magnesium oxide with certain other oxides, boron trioxide (B2O3) and silicon dioxide (SiO2). In accordance with this invention the porcelain compositions are applied to the metal core and fired to provide a partially devitrified porcelain coating on the metal core. The coating has a very low viscosity at its initial fusion point and then almost instantaneous high viscosity due to partial devitrification. The fired coating has a deformation temperature of at least 700 DEG C. and a high coefficient of thermal expansion of at least about 110x10-7/ DEG C.
