    Abstract: Apparatus for automatically controlling the bias of an image reproducing color kinescope in a system including a plurality of video driver states for supplying image representative video signals to respective intensity control electrodes of the electron guns of the kinescope. The output of each driver stage is coupled to an operating supply voltage via a load impedance. The electron gun currents (e.g., Cathode currents) are sensed during image blanking intervals of the video signal to provide respective control voltages representative of the electron gun blanking current levels.

    Abstract: The brightness control appts. in a video system employs a sample and hold cct. including a charge storage capacitor. The sample and hold cct. forms a closed control loop with a signal processing channel, and is keyed during blanking intervals to sample the magnitude of a reference voltage and a brightness representative blanking level of the video signal. The sample and hold cct. provides an output control signal indicative of the voltage difference between the reference voltage and the blanking level. The control signal is applied to the signal channel for translating the blanking level in a direction to minimise the voltage difference.

    Abstract: Automatic chroma control circuitry employs a peak detector circuit, operated from a chroma oscillator configuration, which oscillator exhibits a varying amplitude response determined by a narrow band filter included in an a.c. feedback path for the oscillator and arranged to selectively filter signal frequencies within the narrow bandpass as coupled thereto during the oscillatory burst interval. The bandpass filtered signals, including noise components serving to vary the peak amplitude of the oscillator cause the detector to provide at an output a control voltage proportional to the highest peak of the oscillator. This control voltage is applied to a chroma amplifier stage for varying the gain in accordance with varying oscillator amplitude.

    Abstract: A sample and hold detector arrangement suitable for construction in integrated circuit form as an automatic chroma gain control detector, or a color oscillator AFPC detector, or the like. A wide bandwidth analog multiplier circuit is supplied with an intermittent reference signal and a second signal, the phase or amplitude of which is to be sampled.     Abstract: Cascaded first and second gain-controlled amplifiers are used in the chrominance channel of a color television receiver. The gain of the first amplifier is controlled by an ACC loop employing a noise-immune detector to detect color burst information.
