Abstract:
A circuit to regulate the television track width comprises a first means of negative feedback (40, 54) coupled to a means of variable impedance which comprises a reactive variable impedance coupled to a shunt circuit which draws a charge current from it. The first negative feedback (40, 54) reacts to the charge current to produce a first negative feedback voltage. This voltage increases the value of the reactive impedance when the charge current increases to maintain an appreciably constant track width. The reactive impedance (45, 46, 47) comprises a driven commutator, whose conduction time varies in response to the first negative feedback voltage.
Abstract:
A television receiver is equipped with a power supply including a 1st. inductor with predetermined inductance and a 2nd. inductor coupled magnetically with the 1st, inductor. The 2nd. inductor provides a deflection oscillator(84) with a 2nd. A. C. electric potential higher than the 1st. selected one. It is characterized that when the inductance of the 1st. inductor drops below the predetermined inductance, the 2nd. A. C. electric potential drops below the predermined 1st. one so that the kinescope(460) & the deflection oscillator(84) may not operate.
Abstract:
A transformerless coupled driver-to-output stage deflection circuit in which initial driver stage operating current is obtained from a relatively high voltage receiver power supply to initiate operation of the deflection circuit. A relatively low voltage supply is derived from the deflection output stage and coupled to the driver stage such that the greater portion of the driver stage operating current is supplied by the relatively low voltage supply during normal operation.
Abstract:
A single pole switching arrangement maintains the filament of the cathode-ray kinescope of a television receiver at full power when the set is turned to an ''''ON'''' condition and connected to an alternating current power source, but operates the filament at half power when the set is turned to its ''''OFF'''' state. When the receiver is connected to a direct current power source, on the other hand, no filament power is used when the single pole arrangement switches the set to its ''''OFF'''' condition, thereby extending the number of viewing hours between direct current battery re-charges, for example. Switching the single pole arrangement to turn the receiver to its ''''ON'''' state when the set is connected to the direct current source once again applies full power to the kinescope filament.

Abstract:
A voltage regulator provides a regulated B+ voltage to the horizontal deflection circuit of a television receiver. A positive feedback loop senses the load current drawn by the deflection circuit. The positive feedback voltage increases the magnitude of a reactive impedance component of the voltage regulator as the load current increases in order to maintain a substantially constant raster width.
