Abstract: A degaussing coil structure is connected in series with a temperature dependent resistor and coupled to a source of alternating potential. A frequency dependent impedance is connected in series with the temperature dependent resistor and coupled to another source of alternating potential. When the temperature dependent resistor exhibits its steady state operating resistance, a voltage is developed at the junction of the temperature dependent resistor and degaussing coil structure which reduces the voltage gradient across the coil structure to reduce the residual current flowing through the structure.
