    Abstract: A laser sensing system (12) includes an emitter configured to emit a laser, and a controller (18). The intensity of the laser is based upon power provided to the laser sensing system (12). The controller (18) is configured to control the power provided to the laser sensing system (12), obtain feedback parameters indicative in part of molecular content of the atmosphere, and control the power provided to the laser sensing system (12) based upon the feedback parameters.

The system can include one or more receivers (115) disposed downstream of the pole as defined by the boundary layer flow and configured to receive the transmitter signal.
