Electrochemical/ electrocontrolable device having variable optical and/or energetic properties, comprising at least one carrier substrate with a first electroconducting layer, a first electrochemically active layer than can reversibly insert ions such as cations such as H+, Li+ or anions such as OH-, in particular in an anodic (or cathodic, respectively) electrochrome material, a layer of electrolyte, a second electrochemically active layer than can reversibly insert said ions, in particular in a cathodic (or respectively anodic) electrochrome material, a second electroconducting layer, characterized in that at least one of the electrochemically active layers that can reversibly insert said ions, in particular in an anodic or cathodic electrochrome, comprises sufficient thickness to allow insertion of all the ions without electrochemical dysfunction of said active layers.

The invention relates to an electrochromic device with controlled transparency, in particular of the electrically controlled type, that comprises a transparent bearing substrate (1a) and a counter-substrate (1b), at least one stack (3, 3') of functional layers in which the end layers (TC1, TC2; TC1 ', TC1 ') include electrically conducting layers, the conductivity of at least one electrically conducting layer (TC2,TC2') not in contact with the bearing substrate (1a) being reinforced by an array of conducting members (8) in contact therewith, characterised in that the array includes a meshing (6, 6') in which the surface area of the inter-mesh free space (9) substantially ranges from 0.04 mm2 to 0.16 mm2 and is preferably about 0.09 mm2.

The invention concerns an electrochemical/electrically-driven device, with variable optical and/or energetic properties, comprising at least one carrier substrate provided with an electroactive layer or a stack of electroactive layers arranged between a so-called lower electrode and a so-called upper electrode. The invention is characterized in that at least one of the lower or upper electrodes comprises at least four layers one of which at least one functional metal layer with intrinsic electrically conductive properties, said functional metal layer being associated with an electrochemical barrier layer made of electrically conductive material transparent in the visible light, said electrochemical barrier layer being associated with a protective layer against moisture made of electrically conductive material transparent in the visible light and said functional layer being associated with a first undercoat made of electrically conductive material transparent in the visible light.
