Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for crowning at least one sheet of glass (3), comprising a step for slumping the glass by means of gravity, bringing the central part of said at least one sheet (3) into contact with a male form (2), by bringing the male form close to a female counter-form (4) which supports said sheet, said male form (2) being arranged above said female counter-form (4) with the possibility of a vertical displacement of one relative to the other in a crowning cell, then a pressing step for the glass in the peripheral region thereof between the male form (2) and the female form (4), a suction step for the glass against the male form (2) whilst maintaining the pressing, then stopping the pressing by withdrawing the male form from the female counter form and a stage for cooling the glass outside the crowning cell. According to the invention, crowning can be produced with strong curves in two orthogonal directions without marking the glass.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Abstract:
A method of bending at least one glass sheet including: allowing the glass to sag under gravity; then placing the central region of the one or more sheets in contact with a male former by advancing a female former supporting the sheet toward the male former, the male former being located above the female former with vertical movement of one with respect to the other being possible in a bending cell; then pressing the glass in its peripheral region between the male former and the female former; then holding the glass against the male former by partial vacuum, the pressing being continued; then discontinuing the pressing by separating the male former from the female former; and then cooling the glass outside the bending cell. The method makes it possible to produce bends with short radii of curvature in two perpendicular directions without leaving marks on the glass.
