Abstract: An apparatus (20) for applying protective sheeting (9) of polymer material around a cutback (8) on a pipeline (1) has a frame (21) located close to a pipeline (1) extending along a longitudinal axis (Al); a manipulator (23) fitted to the frame (21) and having a guide system (37) movable between a rest position at a distance from the pipeline (1), and a work position in which the guide system (37) is fitted around the pipeline (1); and an extrusion die (27) movable selectively along the guide system (37) and around the pipeline (1) to supply and apply protective sheeting (9) around the cutback (8) on the pipeline (1).
