Abstract: PURPOSE: To improve heat transfer and to increase an operation speed by forming a cylindrical body comprising a cylindrical wall to which a through- opening receiving a rotatable metal roller is formed and constituting the cylindrical wall of an inner layer having a reinforcing structure provided to the periphery thereof and a relatively non-hard outer layer comprising a deformable material. CONSTITUTION: A roller apparatus is mounted on the load roller provided in the drying section of an apparatus for producing corrugated board and a plurality of short cylindrical sleeves 23 are prepared in the roller apparatus corresponding to machine width. Each cylindrical sleeve 23 consists of an inner core layer 24 with a reinforcing structure constituted of cloth or yarn provided to the periphery thereof and an outer layer 25 comprising a deformable plastic or elastomeric material. The inner layer 24 imparts stability and makes the contact properties with the surface of a roller certain and the outer layer 25 absorbs vibration to reduce the bounding of the roller and the friction of a bearing.
